Sad Doctors
HI everyone,

I recently settle my case with future medical benefits, but my questions is what do I have to do to see a doctors. It seem like every doctor I call they seem like they don't take worker compensation insurance for my injury. I saw 2 ame a while back, one for my wrist and the other for my back. In their report they stated that I might need surgery for my back and wrists as well as physicsl therapy if my conditions don't get back. I try to call my adjuster to have them set up an appointment to see the ame again. what should I do. I also have sarcoidosis and was wondering if I'll be able to get ssi because I starting to lose sensation in my hands and feet, plus they both are always cold, dry, and shrinking. Please if anyone have suggestions I would greatly appreciated.

RE: Doctors
when you filed your claim you should have received information about using the Medical Provider Network.
since you are in california and they allow employers to control care thru Medical Provider Networks you have to contact the carrier for a list of doctors from their Network.
An AME is not usually for treatment; both sides have to agree to any use of an AME.
You should be keeping in contact with your atty as to how to proceed on your case. Contact with a Reviewing doctor outside of legal limits can hurt your case. Since you have an atty you should not be contacting your adjuster directly to discuss the issues of your case. Adjusters should not be returning phone calls to represented clients. There are ethical violations and sanctions involved if you proceed on your own.
