Thinking Spring ?

Yes Tuffy I am my fruit trees are budding and the garden is calling my name...we will be taking the motor home to pensacola beach for spring break.....and then back to get the garden in and going.....Becca grads this spring after 7 hard years of working and going to school she had 3 major surgeries and I had 2 during this time and she was always there for me....so I really am so damn proud of her I cant wait to watch her graduate I am taking the biggest box of kleenex with me as I know I will need it.....Chicks are poping up all over I have hatched 7 dozen chicks out this week.. another 3 dozen are due out in 4 days and then 7 dozen due out on the 1st of march..so we will be eating lots of chicken this fall...roosters only hens will be saved for eggs and a 1 rooster for every 6 hens...yes Monster I will be chopping off their heads mmmmmmmmmm good fried,baked,BBQ and boiled..our church will all pitch in on the food for the chickens and have a butchering days and make a party of butchering,cleaning and bagging it up.and sharing out with those having the most need getting the most..no calf this year I dont think but maybe a couple of pigs.....and hope to can several hundred qt jars of beans,corn,squash relish,peas and tomatos and lots of jams and jellys......and then travel in early Aug for a couple of weeks then back to do apple sauce and pears...cant wait to have the pantry shelves full of canned goods..instead of empty jars..will can more and freeze less to be able to save on running the freezers....I love spring it holds so much promise and poke salad......

We are in the midst of another snow storm, It started last nite and is still coming down, Very heavy. We have 6 inchs already and it is cold. Burrrrrrrrr
BBBB you are closer to the lake are you getting this storm????? Jayne our trees are budding here also but the snow is getting deeper, Hope this is the last one ( snowstorm) Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain. |
