job offer
Hi again, my company offered me a job on Friday the 13th and I said that sounds good but I have to get my doctor to look over the restrictions and that won't be until Tuesday, they wanted me to start on Monday. I went there on Tuesday and gave them the ok from my doctor with restrictions and a start date of 2-23, my boss said we will have to discuss this with upper management and your case worker and I will call u. that was yesterday and still today no call. Was I right to go to my doc for approval before going to work?

RE: job offer
With a WC case the only person that can release you with or without restrictions to return to work is your treating Dr. Good Luck.........

RE: job offer
Just hang in there , it may take them a few days to get back to you. and if you don't hear anything within a reasonable time, ( a week) then call or go to your company and ask whats up......... How long have you been off work? and were you on FMLA? Do you have an attorney?.

They called and I am starting on Monday, I have been on W/C since 11/3/08, then are now trying to fill out FMLA and have me sign those papers. I have contacted an attorney but I hope it does not come to that. Thank you for the support. L4 - S1 Fusion with L3-4 Herniations and disc material on the L5 nerve root left and right. |

RE: job offer
Just remember that FMLA is only for 12 weeks and they do not have to pay you for that 12 weeks...they just have to keep your job for that period. Also, once you begin using it, say you call in sick due to your back problem, and in 6 mo. you have a death in the family (God forbid), you will not be able to use FMLA for time off. Since you have to work so many hrs. in a year, to receive the FMLA the following year, if you use all 12 weeks of FMLA in the next 12 month, you will probably not be elegible for it, for the next 12 months.
I just wanted to make sure you had all the info. before you sign the papers. I wish the very best for you and I hope the job works out for you. |

RE: job offer
and check your state up until a few years ago Okla.had to keep your job open reguardless of how long it took (they kept mine for 2 years) its only been in the last few years that they have changed that rule....your state may have something different or your union if you are a union member so be sure to check those places
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....
