No. Only help is a one time payment of $250.00 for those on disability, but not for us who are on workman's comp.

The only benefit that I found, had to do with Cobra insurance. If you were/ are laid off between September 1, 2008 and the end of 2009, the government is to pay 65% of your Cobra for 9 months.

Any of the benefits that were considered for medicaid were dropped in the final version. Although as stated here, those on disability will get a one-time only check for $250. Those people that are still lucky enough to have a job will receive a $400 for single/$800 per couple tax break on their federal withholding. And for those that are on unemployment..they have extended the time that you can collect unemployment, as well as making the first $2400.00 tax exempt.

Other than that, most of the remaining stimulus will go to businesses, banks, the big 4, roads and highways, some to education etc....

Once the package is up and running, and they start handing out money, you can go to http://www.recovery.gov and track how our grandchildren's money is being spent.

Make that mis-spent. Even the Congressional Budget Office says this package will harm the economy.....

UA, one other observation. When you say the stimulus will go to business, that does not include small businesses, which were largely bypassed here (never mind that we account for 90% of economic activity in the country)

and so it starts.......only those BIG business will get anything......and most of that will never trickle down to us..except in the way of higer taxes....anyone who believes otherwise is plain foolish........the money has to come from somewhere and guess where and who is gonna pay it

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

Bronco,Americans are always looking for someone somewhere to save them and another to place the blame for their troubles....in this case they thought Mr Bush was to Blame and Mr Obama was gonna save them......and we put the fox(congress and the senate) in charge of the hen house......
Problem is we think simply because we are Americans we deserve more for less and most have sadly lost their work ethics...And those that did work hard get hurt trying to take up the slack for those that dont get hurt...we think we deserve the big fancy house the over the top truck the latest phone and of couse only the best labels on the jeans we wear or the shoes we track thru the mud...
Most Americans are learning what we as injured workers learned soon after we were injured......cut it down to bare bone and do without what you dont need to stay afloat......
I sit in disbelief as congress gives our grandchildrens money to big business knowing it isnt gonna help just saddle them with 60-70% taxes in their lifetime....But the messiah said this will work so we blindly follow a man who has no record of ever doing anything of this magnatude.....
My advice to all is to learn how to garden and can, freeze or dry your food.....learn the difference between want and need......and learn to delay gratifacation.....
A large garden will go in here to can and dry.our valentine gift to each other was a green house to make sure there is food in this house all year.....
America hasnt got it yet......the casinos was full over the weekend... .lines into the best resteraunts and roses sold out everywhere....for most of us the cost of that dinner out and the roses would feed our families for 2 weeks.....unless I can get enough canned and frozen in the beginning of the summer to last most of the year we wont be going to california this year.......I do however believe those of us on SSDI and goverment retirements are gonna be better off than some.......as other retirement funds have been raided or lost to investment companies....Sad sad sad..
on a happier note the first of my chicks hatched over the weekend and we are getting a dozen eggs a day now so we will have friend chicken this fall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Jayne

I agree with what you are saying. My husband is the one in our family that likes to spend money, I the thrifty one always ask, "Do we really need this"

Unfortunately my daughter is following in her Daddy's footsteps and thinks she needs only the best. She drives a 2003 GMC double seat cab truck. What teen needs to drive something like that?

Neither one of them will listen to me when I say stop spending. Fortunately I control the check book and pay all the bills. He receives a monthly bonus from work that goes for his extras.

This year I am going to try some hanging vegetable plants when gardening.
