Expecting to be placed at MMI today
I have an appointment with the knee surgeon. I am 7 months post surgery and expect to be place at MMI at this appointment.
At the wc hearing last month the attorney for the insurance company admitted to pushing the doctor to place me at MMI. I do not have a problems with being placed at MMI. My range of motion is not the best, but that is due to the neuropathy issues with my back, not my knee. I will receive work restrictions from the doctor today and will take this to my employer. I haven't worked for 3 years and even with my knee fixed I will not be able to carry out the requirements of my job. I do expect to receive my walking papers. |

RE: Expecting to be placed at MMI today
If You are still Fighting the Back Issue, and the Dr. has You Out of Work due to Your Back, just because Your Knee is MMI doesn't mean You are Totally Healed and Ready to Return to Work! Please Check with Your Attorney about this!!

RE: Expecting to be placed at MMI today
I agree with you Still In Limbo. Returning to work would not be good for my back and only make it worse.
I do have the nerve conduction test that will be done next week and there is the issue of my primary doctor having placed me on sedentary restrictions due to my back. I will speak to my attorney first before I take my work restrictions to my employer. |

RE: Expecting to be placed at MMI today
Bummer, since I didn't have my Total Knee replacement done under a Work Comp Claim, I wouldn't know when MMI for the Total Knee would truely take place. In my thinking, I have to say, I could have been placed at MMI, once I showed I had good Range and Motion, and was no longer in need for PT. I just had my 1 year evaluation and X-rays taken. All is looking great. The Poly Insert is still great. My 1 year report will be sent with the X-rays to the Manufacture of the New Joint. The information is being used because I am one a several that had the Knee replaced with the Newest Plastic insert on the Market. It's said to be possibly one of the best, strongest poly inserts made as of date. Meaning with normal use like in me, it very well could out last all others made to date, of maybe way more then the 20 year span, before a Revision would need to take place.
Like Limbo, I too think the Knee MMI isn't an issue with your other body parts not being MMI. Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor. |

RE: Expecting to be placed at MMI today
Bummer.....Limbo and Badboy are 100% right. Please read my answer to you under the IW forum. I explain what happened to me with an IME claiming 2 body parts were MMI but never mentioned the other 3 It didn't fly in court.
Cap God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |
