have you ever had one of those days?
or in my case months? I have had a steady migraine at least 3 days a week since my injury...this last month its been every waking moment.....then last sunday a film came over my eye shooting pain and then thousands of tiny dots in my right eye......so Off to the ER Becca takes me cuz she said my words were slurring and not making sense.....like look at those dogs would come out look at those horses ect.....the ER was great and got me in right away......the nurse (who has never had a migraine) wanted to do a vision test I explained to her what I could see but she wanted me to read an eye chart.....when I told her I couldnt see out of that eye well enough to tell her what the letters were.....she huffed up and then wanted to shine a bright light in my eye...Becca in a bored voice told her fine but stand back she tends to projectile vomit when in the middle of a migraine when people shine bright lights in her eye....you must understand Becca also gets migraines and understands what I am going thru........so the nurse huffs again and Becca wishes a migraine on her and turns off the lights in my room...i(n walks the Doc who thank you jesus also has migraines so he understands)and has studied them.....does some nuro tests and fills my fanny with morphine.....and tells me this happens sometimes......go home and rest yeah right....the morphine puts me out for the count about 30 min. after I get home....when I wake up the dots are gone but there is still a film over my eye that is bugging me to death I an constantly moving my eye trying to clear to focus it ....Headache is out of this world painful......
Today I have an appt with eye doc to make sure no permanant damage was done and tomorrow back to my PCP.... Any of you ever go thru this? and how long till the cloudy film away..... wish me luck ;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: have you ever had one of those days?
Why would you have slurred speech with a migraine? May be you had a small TIA ( Mini Stroke) and that can also cause blurred vision. It can clear up in minutes or longer. It is good that you are seeing your PCP and eye DR. Let us know what they say...

RE: have you ever had one of those days?
Please Jayne, let us know. I agree with Tuffy. Sounds like a TIA. My dad had several and had all the same symptoms. After his first he took himself to the Dr.s the next day so that's telling you it doesn't last very long and unless someone is there looking at you at the time it's hard to tell.

RE: have you ever had one of those days?
God Jayne I am so sorry to hear. I hope you'r ok, get rested up--I know easy for others to say. But this last fall my mother had the same thing she was stressed out and over ecserted her self----Hope I spelled it right. But she had dull pain behind eye and the dots were in her vision like a shadow. But my mother is stubborn and didnt go in untill 4-5 days after. But they sent her to eye dr then back to dr, test after tests Mri's you name it. Her vision has come back and they figured it was a mini stroke. But I hope it's all just a fluke thing and you will be back sharpining knife's and killing cats....lol. I'm just kidding on the cats. Get Well Bronco.

RE: have you ever had one of those days?
Jayne- sorry to hear of this problems. Did they do a CT scan when you were in the ER? Check your blood sugar? When mine goes high I have blurred vision and it last until I get my sugar down and under control. Also the head aches and slurred speach could be sugar or TIA check your blood pressure, it can cause the head ache and blurred vision. If you need to talk let me know and I will call.
