RE: my son's computer got a virus
A few years back, I had an issue with mine, like you are. I deleted all programs. One at a time. After that, I started off with the system restore disk. After that, I loaded all my other programs. It is very time consuming to do that and there are no guarentees that it will work. Not to mention, you will loose everything you have saved on the computer.

Just a thought. This was sent to me from another member and I down loaded it for free on my other computer http://free.avg.com/
It is a free virus protection program. It may work, I don't know because a virus already exsists, but it is worth a try and free.

RE: my son's computer got a virus
halftrak...Del said to go on line and down a program called, "microsoft malicious software remover." He said this will get rid of a trogen. Then he said you can also do a norton's security scan and then down load the security software that it recommends. He also said that he uses Norton only spy ware. He said to tell you he has tried many others on the networks and Norton is the very best with all the tools built into the software, what ever that means...lol...good luck..I would have already thrown it out the window if I didn't have a Del to call to fix it and fix it now... my anxiety goes way too high with stuff like this...even now i am on a different computer because he is fixing my picture printer... there was a problem this morning wiht it..he is almost done now...thank goodness... love Red
