Sad Any OHIO injured workers here?
I read the posts here all the time and think this site is wonderful. I want to post so I can become part of your group but I get scared. I don't want anything I write here to come back on me later with BWC or the MCO or my work. I've been dealing with my injuries for over a year and find this whole WC/MCO process a nightmare. I never know who to be mad at "work? MCO? or BWC? Its the hardest thing I have ever been involved with. I wasn't depressed before the truck that was driven by my sales manager ran me over in the parking lot at my work but I am now. I also now suffer from post tramatic stress syndrom in addition to the brain injury and herniated discs in my neck and back. Okay that's enough of my feel sorry for me story really just wondered if anyone else is from OHIO or if you all don't mind me talking with you from time to time. Any websites that you want to send me that you think will be informational I would appreciate. I would also like to know why every 700 long questionaire that the psycologist they send you too always ask a bizillion quesions about wanting to work in a flower shop and do you like working with flowers etc. what's with that? I don't know this whole year has been a living hell. Thanks in advance for all your help.[/font]

RE: Any OHIO injured workers here?
One hint that might help others understand your situation is to avoid using too many abbreviations. Each state has a different system and much of the jaron is unique to their state and don't translate well to those in other states. I know that BWC = Bureau of Workers Compensation and is the state agency that controls how work comp benefits are determined and provided. I suspect many others do not.
MCO = medical case officer.

RE: Any OHIO injured workers here?
Dinah, Welcome, You may also want to go to the Off Topic area and post, If you just need to talk or vent, listen to a story, etc.

Do you have an attorney helping you, and what are your injuries? If you don,t mind us asking.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
It's about learning to dance in the rain.

RE: Any OHIO injured workers here?
Hi Dinah,

Your concerns about posting are shared by many here.    As long as you are honest about your injuries, and don't post any personal information about yourself like your email address, phone #, real name, case #, adjuster name, etc., you should not have to worry.   Other posters here are very helpful.

Learn about the Workers Comp laws that are specific to your State.    Go to the top of this page, pull down the menu "info by state" and click on Ohio.    The best defense you have is to educate yourself.   Also ask questions when something in unclear.

It helps to come here and interact with others who are going thru similiar situations.    Mostly, we are all injured workers, and have various degrees of disability, ranging from physical to psychological.  There are also some pros that come on and help answer questions and concerns.

You indicate you have a brain injury, and are also suffering from depression.    Is this all a result of your work related injury?   It's good to see that you are getting some help from a psychologist.

The Psychological test you are referring to is called the MMPI-2.    Your psychologist should have you return for an interpretation session so he/she can explain the results.     Many of the questions seem somewhat silly or senseless to us lay people, but are asked for specfic reasons.    You asked about the "flower shop questions".      On the MMPI-2, there are a total of 50 questions which were intended as a measure of gender role development, including emotional reactions, interests, attitute and feelings in which men and women differ.

Come back often, and feel free to vent, make friends, and learn how to help yourself thru this process.    It can be very overwhelming.

Let Go, and Let God......

RE: Any OHIO injured workers here?
I am touched that all of you would reply to my post so quickly and with such compassion and understanding. Thank you a thousand times. All of my injuries including the brain injury are a direct result of the truck running over me. I am crying right now because I have come in contact with people that understand what I am going through and are welcomeing me into their group. Sometimes you feel so alone. People don't understand they think ok times up you should be better by now. Or they say stuff like just get up and push yourself you can suffer through it. If you don't push yourself you won't ever get better. Or if you keep taking all those medications you're going to become hooked on them. I try and explaine but it doesn't do any good. Its like you look ok so you should feel ok. Unless you have a broken arm with a cast that everyone can so no one believes you are hurt. I will go to the pull down menu you talked about and check for OHIO and see what I can learn. I get sidetracked and lose my train of thought now so if I post things that make no sense bear with me. Before I was injuried I worked 65 to 70 hours a week. I have old school work ethic. I was never late always early worked every hour I could and worked while I was at work not just bid my time until it was time to go home. My life has been complicated and it was just starting to turn its self around and I felt so good about life again. I have gained 50 pounds since the truck ran me over and now I hate my body. Sounds vain I know but its true. I liked the way I looked now I can't stand to see myself. I haven't driven my car in a year I have lost my independence and my idenity. I should shut up I could go on and talk for a long time because I've had no one to talk to that hasn't judged me. I love my job I miss my job I miss being me and fear I'll find my way back and that scares me. Thank you thank you thank you for letting me join your group. Sweet tooth if I am able I will joing your prayer time. I believe in God and know he hasn't forgotten me I just think he's been real busy this past year and I've been pushed down on the list since there are many other people worse off than I.
