RE: Help needed from IW with back injuries
Limbo...You are dead on. I never even thought of that. My dead foot is on the same side as the wicked sciatica pain I get. A trigger point injections usually relieves all pain before I am oput of the office. I ice the area for acouple of days and usually this doesn't happen again for awhile.

BK....I think you could have a tight , hard, spasing muscle pressing on the sciatic nerve causing this. I also have nerve damage so the big toe and two next to them are consistant but that's tolerable in comparison to the rest of it. After the trigger point injection in my butt cheek I sit the ice bag right on the spot. Oh what relief it is.

Still In Limbo

Thank you for your answer.

Most my problems I have are of the right side, the numbness in the foot along with some pins & needles on the side & heel of the foot.

When I had problems shopping over the weekend, it was also the right side.
I also have the burning down the back of the leg which get more intense the longer I am on my feet. If I set down and rest I do see some improvement.

The day before my shopping trip I saw the nerve pain increase in the other leg.

Still In Limbo
I do admire you as you are a person of extraordinary inner strength.

Cap
Thank you for your post.
I am on skelaxin for muscle spasms but still have spasms in the hip area and low back.

And you also are a person of extraordinary inner strength.

Bummer, your doctor may tell you that you could wear braces or supports, but may not Prescibe them. If not, here are some good Braces/Supports close to what I would wear when going out. I know you can find them cheaper at like Walgreens Medical Supply stores, or Medical Supply stores around you. Even at your local Drug store too. The thing is, you have to try something now, to better help you. Your attempts of this, will better your information that you then can supply to your doctor. Plus these Braces/Supports, add warmth to your back and right knee. I also hope you have gotten a pair of very good shoes to wear out.

P.S. I hope your still riding your Excersise bike at home 30 minutes a day for the Knee Replacement. You know you have to continue working that leg for a very long time to come.

RE: Help needed from IW with back injuries
You're Quite Welcome Bummer, and Thank You for the Kind Words. An Impinged Nerve can actually Re-Generate itself if given Time, You have to Remember that if they find and Release an Impinged Nerve You will See some Relief Immediately, but it will take as Long if not Longer for it to Re-Generate as it took to get that Bad. So Patience and PT along with Rest is going to what You will need at that Time. In My Situation, My Disc blew Out with so Much Force it filled the Foranim Area where the Nerve Root Travels, and Crushed the Root. The Surgeon Performed a Laminectomy, where they cut Off the Top of the Foranim, leaving it a U Shape instead of a Circle and cleaned Out All of the Debris. Unfortunately Scar Tissue filled where they had Removed half of My Disc, and encapsulated the S1 Nerve and Nerve Root before it could Heal! So I have to Live with a Crushed Nerve Root for Life, unless something New comes along that could Help Me. And by Performing the Laminectomy, My Spine became less Stable, and with My other Dried Out Discs unable to Help Stabilize My Spine, I now also have Retrolethesis. I am Praying that You only have an Impingement Issue, which to Me it Sounds Like, and they can get to it before it Becomes Permanent. So even though Our Injuries May be Different, some of the Symptoms are the Same! My Best, and Have a Great Day!!Smile

RE: Help needed from IW with back injuries
Bummer...thank you. That;'s why I get the trigger point injections. There is no amount of Skelaxin, flexeril, soma ,etc. I could possible take that would get rid of the pain when it starts. I have been at this for 3 years and the shots never failed me. I have had them for sciatica and in my trapezius muscles for cervical and arm pain. I have the same pain upper and lower. One comes from my back and one from my neck. Opposite sides. Upper is left and lower is right. Weird huh? I think a trigger point in the sacroid area (a PM dr. would do this or possibly an Ortho) would give you relief. I need one about every 6-7 months. All I have to do is walk wrong, sit wrong, lay wrong and I'm done. When it starts I can't put any weight at all on my foot at all. As soon as it hits the floor I know what I'm in for. God bless. Think about the injections. They have been a life saver for me.

Still In Limbo
What worries me is this has been going on since Nov 2005. I have my "bad times" and I have times where I am doing better. Been like this for over 3 years.

This is the worse it has been since the summer of 2007.

This morning my primary doctor's nurse called me back to gather information about what happened Saturday.

She is going to talk to the doctor and call me back with what he says.

I will post with an update.

RE: Help needed from IW with back injuries
My doctor has scheduled a nerve conduction test for Feb.

And my attorney called, I gave him an update of the medical.

He expects the judge's decision to be made in the next few days.
