I am sooooo excited...

hi all, about 2 months ago, an old girlfriend from grade school and high school found me and we have been talking almost everyday since. She is coming out to visit in February and will be here for our son's wedding on March 1, 2009. We were friends from the third grade through highschool, and she was one of my bridemaids in Del and my wedding. Her name is Linda and I am absolutely beside myself with excitement over this. I just found out last night that she is coming from Oregon to here for a few weeks. She is divorced and her two children are living on their own now so she is alone and has the time to visit. I am waiting to find out exactly when she is coming but it will be sometime in February into March. I am making plans to take her to Broadway, Alantic City, Washington DC, and of Philadelphia. I can't wait. I just pray that I have some energy for all of this so that I don't dampen the fun we could have togehter. She is an artist also, so we will paint together and just have a great time. Just thought I would share my excitement with all my friends here.

Update here.... Del is looking for a job and he has a few government interviews over the next couple of weeks.

We just had a wedding shower given by Sophie's our son's finance last Sunday, and it was really over the top for this country girl, but typical lifestyle for Sophie and her family. We had a full course meal with salad, salmon and all the trimmings that go with that, and then dessert. THere were around 175 people there or more, not sure, and it was in a large banquet hall sponsered by her older sister. The gifts were really over the top for anything I have ever wittnessed for a wedding shower.

Chris and Sophie's wedding is scheduled for March 1, 2009 at 1400 or 2 pm at a Greek Orthodox Church. it should be interesting. The reception will follow with a full open bar and lots of food with a main meal of filet migon and lobster. I dislike lobster, but this was my son and his new wife's choice. I am in the wedding of course as the mother of the groom. Del is going to be fitted for his tex today and my dress is hanging in the closet ready to go. It is along dress with black and gold on the top part and a long black skirt. She is having a black and white wedding. All of the grand daughters are in this wedding. Each of them are wearing either a white dress with a black sash or a black dress with a white sash. All of us are getting our hair and make up done early that Sunday morning before the wedding. We are all wearing pearls for the wedding, thank goodness I have a full set from living in Okinawa where you can buy sea water pearls at an afforadable rate. I had a set for each of the grand daughters also.. except ear rings which we are buying. We are going to have family pictures done that day as well so I will share the pictures after the wedding. THere is no doubt that Sophie will be beautiful as she is a very beautiful girl with out a wedding dress. The rehearsal dinner is on the 26th, Dawn and her family arrive on the 24th and I am not sure when Linda, my high school friend is coming as of yet.

The windows in our house are being replaced and Del is working on remodeling the living room. We are going with a two tone beige on the walls, camel furniture, and dark brown curtains and trim. I hope it looks ok. The furniture will not be bought until Del has a job so that may not happen right away.

Our next month will be quit active it appears and I am really excited to see my daughter from Oregon and her family again and to see my old friend Linda. My brother and his wife may be coming, they are still checking into getting vacations etc. My mom and dad can't come for which I am really sorry. Del's mom is not coming either. I gues that is it for now... love Red

Now 'mother monster' says to remember to take care of yourself and get your sleep. You know you don't do well when you don't have enough rest.

do you all remember the cousin i went by and seen in the pittsburg area when we went to the castle? she just e-mailed me she will be down here in feb . red i was so happy for you now see the Lord has blessed me with family comeing down just may take her to the swamp to see a gater
