Help with Elk
Hi I need help deciding what else to put in this pic. I already took the grass out of the foreground. The oil is still wet so the pic has a reflection to it......Any suggestions?

RE: Help with Elk
Hi Backache...do you really want to know what I like and what i would do differently? If so, please keep in mind, that I can't paint an animal like you do and I am speaking completely from theory and understanding of sunlight and perspectives. First, I think the painting is beautiful. Your elk's facial features are rich (not as rich as the last one but still very good). Your perspective on the elk in terms of body size to head and limbs are very good. I could only wish to paint something as you have done. You bring pure joy to animal lovers. My dad would love for me to paint him a picture of an elk.... and do not send it to jayne, I have no idea what she is doing with all that I sent her. Her house can't be that big... ok...backache you know that I think you have more talent in your little finger than I have in my entire body...as always I know what it is suppose to look like but don't have the talent to make it happen...whereas you do...its beautiful.... let me know if you really want to know more about painting directional light....love Red
