what to do
On 11/14/2008 I tripped on a hose at work and felll. Was taken to the hospital and the Dr. said I had strained my abducter muscle and sent me home.(Never took and xray) Four days later I was still in horrible pain and could not walk. My company sent me to their doctor and he took an xray and said I had a broken hip. Had the ball replaced on the 19th. I am still off on workmans comp and having Physical tharphy. I am so angry about the Dr. I want to do something. How long do I have to file a suit? Not sure about my work but really want to do sopmething about the Dr.
Any informantion would be appreciated. |

RE: what to do
I would contact a medical malpractice Lawyer ASAP . They should be able to answer your questions as well as let you know if you have a case .

RE: what to do
I cannot tell you how much this upsets me to hear doctors make wrong diagnosis. My daughter lived 8 yrs. in pain with ulcerative colitis and the doctor said she was a hypocondriac and maybe lactos tolerant. Stay away from ice cream etc. She lost 40 lbs. and after going to the bathroom 10-20 times a day and the emergency room a zillion times and being sent home, I forced them to look at the stools she was passing and would not let them send her home. She had her stomach marked that evening for emergency surgery and lost her whole large intestine and had a colostomy bag for 2 yrs. She tried to sue the doctor for 5 yrs. and all of a sudden everything was dropped.
We soaked thousands of dollars into her lawyer and many years of court dates etc. It was a very difficult case to sue for malpractice and to this day I do not know why it was dropped. My daughter is 28 and I cannot seem to get the correct reason why it was dropped after all that money. I really do not know how you would do by sueing this doctor, but be prepared for a long haul if you do. I also feel my daughter picked the wrong lawyers. She had two and should of only went with one if they knew there was a case and not soak all this money into it. Every little stamp, copy of paper etc. was charged to her. I think medical malpractice is very tough to fight and takes a long time from what I experienced. I hope I am wrong. carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10% |

RE: what to do
dont know about your state il is two years from the date of the accident but when you file you must have a doctor who is in the same field acknowledge that a medical misdignosis was made causing damage to you. it hard to find a doctor in the same town who will write such a report and if you get an attorney make sure they know from what other states the court will allow the testimony of this other ohysican
survivor of w/c 19 years and still going learned the hard way on how to deal with my own attorneys not just the doctors during the suits---goocd luck cheers!!! me!!!! |
