red1030 Wrote:Welcome to the forum .... feelinscrewed. You are most likely being screwed as most of us know that is what w/c does best. However, in everything comes the good, the first stroke of luck for you, was the same as it was for me, and that was finding this forum full of great people to help you through this mess. Some are truly great experts and some have more to say due to experience but all of them will give you support and understanding while working with this system. I don't have anything to add to what has been said...and I ditto..GET A LAWYER NOW ... it is the best thing that you can do for yourself. You will need someone to stand up for you and know how to communicate the law etc to defend your rights...because rest assured that w/c case managers or the system will not do it for you.... good luck and best wishes...

I like your picture. I was just thinking that it would be a good picture to paint, and then here comes my jayne...desparately asking if I could paint it for her...she knows I will...but we will leave her in suspense just alittle longer... I am going to copy the picture...to my computer..I hope that is ok...love Red

Again, thanks to all for your help. I look forward to further conversations with each and every one of you. It's so depressing at times dealing with it all.
And, feel free to copy the picture, it's titled "God's Hands". I love it!

Prayer is a powerful tool!

RE: harassment
You have Received Great Advice from the Others above, the Only Thing I would Like to Add is: Tell the NCM they are not Welcome in the Exam Room, they can Talk to the Dr. afterwards if they Like, You have a Right to Privacy!! And as Soon as Humanly Possible Hire an Attorney that You feel Comfortable with that Specializes in w/c Cases. The w/c Lien on Your State Award is Normal, You can't be Paid twice for the Same Injury, it's Called by Some as "Double Dipping", not Something You are doing wrong, and the Attorneys can Explain it to You Better than I. You are going to have to Take Control of Your Situation and Protect Yourself and Your Rights, along with Your Health. The NCM has a Job to get You Back to Work A.S.A.P., and Your Pain is not Their Concern, I still don't know how Someone in Good Conscience can Force a Worker they know is Injured Back to Work!! Be Well, and Remember We are Here to Help, so Ask any Questions You Wish, there are Very Knowledgeable and Compassionate Folks on Here!!Wink

Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled.

Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!!

RE: harassment
Welcome to the forum,

Everyone has given you some good advice. Also remember to keep a daily dairy of things that are going on -- pain levels, who you talk to what they say, etc. This will help out your attorney later on. You also need to let your doctors know about the depression that you are going through. There is nothing wrong with seeing someone about depression and getting help for it. It will be better to start treatment sooner than later on when the blues set in big time.

Depression and pain seem to go hand in hand according to my PCP. I have seen a therapist to deal with my depression and stress at the beginning of my wc case. It really did help. I also have been on anti-depressants for about 4 yrs now. I was prescribed anti-depressants not only for the depression but also for the nerve pain that I suffer from both my injury and peripheral neuropathy. This allows me to take narcotic pain meds at a much less frequency as well. For me they have helped more with the pain than the pain meds that I have been prescribed. Only time I take my darvocet is when I am in really bad pain.
