RE: Hey Still
Quietdude went moose hunting while we were stationed in Alaska...he saw his big boy sited in looked into those beautiful eyes put his gun down and said he could never kill anything so beautiful
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: Hey Still
Jayne, I understand what You Mean, I have had to think Twice Sometimes before Firing, but I Usually do Fire. I am the Type of Hunter that Hunts for the Sport, I eat the Meat, but I don't Hunt nor have I ever Hunted Doe, and I only Shoot at the Bigger Bucks. It's like the Worlds Biggest Prozac when I enter the Woods, I Loved Everything about it, and My Personal Happiness is to See How Close I can get to Deer before they See Me! I am a "Still Hunter", a Method Used by the Native American, I Walk Slowly All Day, only Stopping to Listen after every 5 Steps or so, and the Guys at Camp Used to Call Me the "Ghost Hunter" because I could Walk up on them while they were in Their Tree Stands and they couldn't Figure out how I got there!!
![]() Backache, I Truly Hope You, Dave and the Guys have a Great Time Hunting Monday, and for the Rest of the Season, Maybe My Day will come Again, I just have to be Patient!! RE: Hey Still
Still, I'm using a 30-30 that my brother gave Joshie years ago. It has 2 safties on it. The one when you pull the hammer back one click and a button safety. I just hope I remember to take the button one off too. That would be just my luck if the big boy comes in and the gun doesn't go off because I forget to take it off. I will keep you up on what is going on during the day.

RE: Hey Still
I had One of those Once, and the Second Safety is a Pain, but good for Kids Learning! I gave My Son My 308, it was Handed Down to Me by My Father, and it was Time to Pass it on to Him. I have a 1948 Marlin 30/30 Sporting Carbine with an 18 inch Barrel, a Very Close gun, You can't shoot any Further than Maybe 75 Yards Accurately. It's also Called a Scabbard or Guide Gun, because the Feed Tube is Very Short, so You can Easily take it in and out of a Scabbard. This was the First Year Marlin Made the 336 Line, so I had the Gun Totally Restored, and it Looks Like New. As I Said, I Still Hunt, so it's Great for Tight Spots! Unfortunately I was Injured Before I could Use it to Hunt, but as I Said Before, Maybe in the Future!! So I have to Hunt through You, Dave and the Guys this Year, so Please Keep Me Updated!!

RE: Hey Still
Hey Backache, My friend Glenn Busted a 10 Point at 7:30 this Morning!! My Father, who is 70 Missed the First Day since He was 12 Years Old due to His Health, so Glenn is Giving Him the Deer! He is taking it to the Butcher, picking it up when it's done, and taking it to My Father!! That Made My Fathers Day, and I'm Very Grateful to Glenn for Remembering Him!! I Hope You and Dave and the Guys do Well Today, Please let Me know how it goes!!!

RE: Hey Still
Still, See there are still good people out there. I'm happy your Dad is going to have some venison. Well I was on a couple of times, but with so many hunters around my phone lines have been screwed up all week. Everytime I went to tell you about the hunt the darn thing would go off and my post would get lost. So far my girlfriend Cheryl got a 6 point the first day. It was her first deer ever and she shot it at about 830 yards. Her hubby then got a beautiful 8 point at about 960 yards. The second day their son got a 5 point. Dave and I got colds.....thats it. I just couldn't sit out there for too long so I would go and pick out a couple of deer and come back in. We are hoping that Dave gets the big buck, but so far he has stayed hidden away like those bucks are so good at. I will try to get on again later.
