Question about x-rays
My daughter just found out she is pregnant only about 5 weeks along, anyways she broke her wrist about 3 weeks ago and had x-rays taken of her wrist not knowing she was pregnant,I am worried about this.So she was probably only a couple of weeks pregnant when they were taken, would this be harmful to the baby?Halftrak

RE: Question about x-rays
Yes, it could be...this is why they always ask if you are, or may be pregnant prior to filming. She needs to contact family doctor Halftrack. I pray it wasn't enough radiation to harm the baby.

RE: Question about x-rays
halftrak...I agree with Lilly... she should notify her physician and find out what he or she thinks? I wish I could say something different. Love Red

RE: Question about x-rays
I agree with others, but also I had xrays when I was pregent with my son, but he was born with out any damage or side effects. Will send extra prayers that every thing is oK. And know that you have a joy to look forward to.

May God send his angels to hold you in his arms

RE: Question about x-rays
DID THE TECH place a lead apron over her abdomen ? Often SOP for young females who often don't know their preg, status. Is then no problem.

RE: Question about x-rays
Halftrak..praying all is Ok but I do agree with Cycler. I'm 54 and all techs still put the apron on me no matter what type of x-ray I'm having done. I had my hands and feet done recently dur to arthritis and they had the apron on me. Has your daughter said whether they did this or not?? Please let us know.
