RE: Pain Clinic
Well I am so glad I began to read these posts...When I had my ALJ hearing, I had all my back, nerve and leg issues listed, and the Judge gave me a fully favorable judgement. That was really good, but I was upset when I read his entire judgement, as he said that I had several psychological problems, which I had never added to my case. I had not even been to see a psychologist or anything. One of them was Somatoform Disorder and in his report, he made it seem like it was in my head. I was so upset that he would pull it out of the air, even though it helped me to get the award. I am so glad to read that it is a real disorder and not suposedly in my head. I still don't know where he got it from, but it just makes me feel better that the judge was not claiming that it was in my head.

katicabogar-maybe that is a good sign that it will help your claim. I sure hope so.

Thank you all for the great info. and thread.

RE: Pain Clinic
My WC claim will be 2 yrs. in Jan. I have had about 10 different diagnosis and treatments and not ONCE have I been approved for a MRI. For some reason I cannot get a doctor to order one or even try to get one approved.

I have no idea why they would not bother to find out what REALLY is going wrong with my hand by ordering a MRI in case it is my neck causing all this numbness etc. The 2 EMG's said " Mild carpal" and I have had that surgery 10 yrs. ago and it is back. I am left to be treated now for RSD with injections to hopefully get some pain relief as surgeons all refuse to repeat the surgery.

carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.
1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10%

RE: Pain Clinic
Ifoster21, I also think this website is great and we learn so much just by reading other's stories. I am also very greatful for every advice and I think most people here are truly trying to help.
Regarding this Somatoform Disorder..when this pain clinic's doctor spoke with me, he admitted most of the time they have no clue why some people suffer from chronic pain. I think when they don't know the true cause of pain, they try to make us feel like we are nuts and everything is just in our heads. I get very frustrated trying to explain where I hurt, how it feels, what kind of pain it is etc. because they don't believe me anyway. I don't know when I get to see the ALJ judge, but I hope he/she will rule in my favor.

Sparkey, I thought you had an MRI just before your settlement and your private insurance paid for it. I also thought it was normal?
