Making baskets for the medical fund
On the thread about little Michael I posted about the medical fund that was started in my daughter's name.
The purpose of the fund is to issue medical grants to families with emergency medical needs in our county. We have very busy lately issuing lots of grants lately and the fund is running low. So with the help of others we are making kitchen baskets and selling them at a local antique mall and at a flea market. The money made on the baskets will be deposited into the medical account so we can issue future medical grants. I thought I would list the contents of the basket and if anyone has any suggestions that would make the baskets more attractive please post your suggestions. The contents of the first basket made: I scented Bath & Body liquid hand soap 1 scented candle 1 crochet hanging kitchen towel 3 crochet dish clothes 2 crochet scrubber Items are placed in a wicker basket with tissue paper lining the bottom & sides of the basket. The basket is wrapped with clear gift wrap gathered at the top of the basket and tied with ribbon. All baskets are done in a color scheme. A decorative sign sharing information about the medical program is attached to the front of the basket, and a smaller one that list the contents of the basket. I have debated on what price to place on the basket but thought I would place $25.00 on the first basket. |

RE: Making baskets for the medical fund
bummer this is such a great thing that you are doing. Have you considered making baskets for baby showers which would include all kinds of small things such as bib's, cloth diapers, burping towels, teddy bears, home made dolls, etc... I am sure there would be some other things that you could make to go in to them. I would help if I were there to do it. Also consider Christmas baskets with scented candles, kitchen towels, hand towels, candy...or what ever else you can think of ... love Red

we have a lady that does that here......she also makes baskets for collage students and for graduation......she makes up one of each and displays them and makes as people want them...however they are a bit more expensive than yours Bummer...Becca got one for her first apt...it was a laundry basket with a roll of paper towels t-paper,scrubber,dish soap, candles and a varity of small cleaning sprays and small laundry soap and dryer sheets a small candy dish and a pkg of mints....it was so cute all done up in the cellofane like an easter basket.....
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....
