RE: ime dr lied
Regarding IME doctors..recently I lost my appeal in front of judge for my triggering fingers because IME doc was found more credible than my own. This IME doc is an ortho surgeon and my current doctor is just a sports medicine specialist who actually didn't really try hard to testify in my favor(other topic). I just discussed this with my lawyer who said, this IME doctor just joined the same clinic where my treating doctor is and he is sending a client to her as she is very credible and did only a few IME's.
I don't know what to think. When she did my IME she didn't even have my medical reports to read and she just agreed word by word with first IME to deny my claim. She told me, she was sorry she had to do it because she said, the way IC see things, if someone stopped working, than new condition can't be work related. She agreed I had severe problems not just with my fingers but with my shoulders/arms and recommended further treatment at a charity clinic(no such thing here). I am sure she is a good specialist but I feel sorry for those who has to see her in the future as I know she can be bought up. I wish there was a website where we could go and find out who did IME's in the past and be warned against them. Personally, I just don't have any trust or respect for them no matter how good they are in their profession. Kat |

RE: ime dr lied
I had an appointment with the IC's dr today. They were totally unprepared and asked a ton of questions and it seemed like the dr was trying to confuse me on the facts. I just answered the questions and as far as specific dates told them they would have to call my attorney. They would not allow my husband in the room with me during the exam. They also took xrays on my neck even though I have an mri on file. This dr questioned me on why my other jobs could not have been the cause of the damages to my hands and neck. I also had appointment yesterday with the VA clinic. The dr at VA was shocked that no one has done any treatment on my neck and said he was very concerned about what the mri showed on my neck and is getting me an appointment with neuro surgeon asap. I cannot wait to get the report by this IC dr to see what he has to say. One thing the IC has forgotten was when I first was diagnosed with carpal tunnel before they approved the treatment they sent a man to my job to observe me on the job. This man was at my office for 10 minutes total and said if this is what you do all day I don't need to see anymore. He noted how bad the set up on my desk was and how I had to cock my neck to wait on customers, talk on the phone and input every transaction into my computer. He said the current set up was the worse he had ever seen and was going back to recommend some immediate changes. Treatment was approved on the carpal tunnel the next day and the changes this man had talked about never happened.

RE: ime dr lied
Sooner,
I worked in a small lab in a very wealthy town. Most of our chairs were broken at our computer desks and even my boss was sitting at a chair with a ruler on the back to brace it from falling apart. The pull out counters were installed after 3 people complained of pain in their wrists and arms were ordered to put on the chairs. Even a few chairs were bought. I knew something was up because all of a sudden they were concerned of how comfortable we were after the 3 injury reports. One girl had neck problems and they had to make a raise to make the computer higher for her to see instead of always bending her neck down. Mats were placed on the floors etc. When I went for my FCE I mentioned how bad the ergonomics were in the workplace and they were going to send someone there to look at it. I did see someone come through taking notes but never heard anything since. It was a very slow process of them replacing things, but the did very little to get by to pass what was needed to make it LOOK ergonomic safe. When I went to my hearing ( without a lawyer) I mentioned how the chairs were held together with rulers, how the printer was always broke and we had to write everything on each tube of blood drawn, and how the whole lab was not ergonomic safe. I do not know if this helped me or not in winning the 10 % impairment rating but I at least wanted it on tape. I also made sure they got on tape me saying how awful it is to highly pay some doctor money to do a IME that takes all but 10 mins. and could not even remember what state he saw me in. They still found this doctor more credible. Imagine that?????? carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10% |

RE: ime dr lied
I just had My Second IME in 4 Years in Late Sept., and the Dr. spent a Total of 18 Minutes in the Exam Room, 15 minutes at the Desk Asking Questions, and 3 Examining Me, and He did Very Little Examining! His Report was about 5 Pages Long, and by Mistake the Last Page was the Bill to the Ins. Co. Total for this Small Amount of Time= $1395.00, Reading His Report along with My Attorney and knowing We can Beat Him at Any Hearings= Priceless!!!

RE: ime dr lied
I feel really bad reading what everyone goes through with an IME. I'm 19 from PA and was injured 8/9/06. I was sent to an IME a little while back after my last surgery was cancelled by comp. I couldnt drive to this guy 2 hrs. away, so they actually sent a limo for me!? He took x-rays of my injured wrist, spent 5 minutes examining me ..however, he actually suggested two seperate surgeries when my doctor only wanted one. Why is it that he would agree, when everyone else says they are paid to lie?

RE: ime dr lied
Jilly, You were one of the lucky one's is all.
Many of these IW have multiple records, films, xrays to back up their injuries...but by sending them to foul IME's it just delays the system (courts, hearings, your lawyers's and most of all...the IC having to pay sooner!), the inevitable ending of the IW winning. Lilly
Injured worker, & tired of it all! I'm too old for games!! A careless word may kindle strife, a cruel word may wreck a life, a timely word may level stress, and a loving word may heal and bless! |
