Obama's New Slogan

RE: Obama's New Slogan
I have several drafts I have typed but cannot bring myself to post because they will definitely disagree with some. That's OK. I will remain as absent as possible until the election is over and let those who think their opinion is the only one, the right one have at it. I have come to see the small mindedness of some.

Red...thank you for voicing your opinion. I agree with all but one thing. I never and neither has anyone else ever called "quietdude" a racist. The picture is racist. Some thought it funny, others didn't.

God is never late.

In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years.

RE: Obama's New Slogan
Seeing as how our daughter is black and I have a bit more sensitivity in this issue.I dont view it as racist at all.....I do however think it is a true statement...as Obama is not Black how can it be racist?I do however feel some are overly sensitive....I find Obamas comment about "that women with the lump of flesh in her arms" speaking of Palins baby a bit more how do we say insensitive.....Blonde jokes are offensive to my daughter I find them funny....women driver jokes piss me off you guys find them funny.......we all have a different sence of what is funny....as I posted this joke for my Honey I will take the heat for it.

RE: Obama's New Slogan
Well, well, well. I see some may be scared to say they are or might to Vote for Obama... Or, they feel that someone might come along and say something about it if they do... Being that is said... Let me say this;

I'm voting for ((Obama)), like it or not, I don't care, and I don't care if anyone likes it. It's my choice, and also several others.

Now if some are voting for McCain, that is fine with me.

But, all in all, I have made my mind up.....

RE: Obama's New Slogan
Now I wish I had posted this thread! I guess being brought up in Del Paso Heights, California was not the "hood" in the sixties and I guess Watts wasn't part of the "hood" then either. Racist? Some of my best friends were/are black and I would trust them more then most whites as they actually tell you how they feel not hide their true feelings as many whites I know do!
As of right now, I am a registered Democrat, but that may soon change as the central democratic committee tried to get McCain disqualified for running for the Presidentcy on the grounds that his father was a member of the United States Navy serving his country in a foreign country. John McCain the third was born in a U.S. military hospital in that country. The Democrat Committee contends that since he was not born on "U.S. soil" he is not qualified to run for this office. It took a in our congress to state he was eligible to run for the office. This is the way the Democrats feel about our military personnel serving their country? It sure looks that way!

Everyone in this country has their right to vote for whomever they please. Just as long as they vote. If your person wins, great! Just don't "bitch" when he/she does things that just don't go your way. I don't know much about Obama, but what I do know I certainly would not vote for him!

RE: Obama's New Slogan
I feel I need to clear a few statements up.

Bad Boy.... I didn't make the statement that "I didn't say that I was voting for Obama" because I am afraid to say so. If that is what you meant when you said, "I see some may be scared to say they are or might to Vote for Obama," then I must say you do not know me at all. I said it to say that who I am voting for has nothing to do with what I am saying. To be honest, I started reading both web sites again the other day, and this time I am doing checks and cross checks and I am not done. Once that is done, I can make that decision then I will tell you all. I usually like to make the most really important decisions based on a check list etc. This time I am going to decide based on how I percieve each components stand on the issues, especially the ones that affect our children, healthcare, and the war, and veterans affairs...then and only then will I truly know. My husband is voting for McCain as well as my son...my daughters are voting for Obama...we have very loud discussions here...as my children tend to be more like there dad than me, make sure they are heard about what they believe.

Cap...you are absolutely right, no one said that quietdue was racist, I apology for not reading that part well and leaving you all with the idea that I thought you did.

Still...no offense meant...and I think you should express yiour views. I liked your story and its conceptual views of demoncrats versus republicans. It had several applications to what was being discussed.

jayne...I agree..... however, my experience has been that that joke would appear as it is racist. I didn't take it that way, because I know you both and I believe I understand your way of thinking...now that is scary...smiling...but what I mean is, you both have a heart so big, that you would never post something to offend. Thank you for clearing it up.

Babebahn.... wow are you on top of things... I wish you the best...

RE: Obama's New Slogan
Red, I am so sorry, but what I wrote, had not one thing at all to do with you. Or any of your postings, I'm very sorry if you took it that way, maybe I should of read your post before I wrote. I don't care who votes for who, trust me, I don't get my underware in a bunch over that. It's a free country. I said what I said, because a couple people feel if they say something, that they may get stomped on is all.

My decision was made after the last debate, and after McCain was in MN. I praise McCain for making statements to people stating all the things being said about Obama were not true. I give him credit for it. I am worried about why McCain has excessive eye blinking going on. Now if it is the cause of being treated with medication, or past PTSD treatment, I don't know, but adding the issue of he can't look Obama in the eyes when addressing him in any Debate, makes me feel as if he can't, for there just may be something going on in the back of his mind is all. His age bothers me, and being a POW treated the way he was bothers me, for many POW's from that time era, aren't all in good heatlh, and many had died. I just can't think of Palin becoming President if something did happen to Mcain. But, I have many other issues that I did weight out also. But, when I looked at my list of good issues for both of them, Obama's list was longer on my sheets.

Doesn't matter who wins, for after one of them does win, we will never know, how well the other one might had done.

When we been talking HeathCare before, let me just say this, last week I got noticed that my Heathcare is being rasied 13 & 1/2%. That did not make my day go well at all neither.

One thing is for sure, if anyone doesn't trust one of these men or women, remember to vote wisely for your State Senator's then. For most to everything that has to get done, be asked to get done, has to go through the Senate, and then the House. The President then can accept or Veto.

RE: Obama's New Slogan
I am one that found the obama poster funny and no way am I a racist. I took it for what it was, political humor.I am voting for the Mccain /Palin ticket and believe that everyone has a right to choose who they are voting for. I have appreciated all the political posts on this forum. There are many people who spoke with passion about their candidates and I for one am delighted to hear their passion even if it was not the candidate I chose. I have always exercised my right to vote but there are many who just do not care or won't put forth the effort to go to the polls. I find this election different and am excited to see so many so passionate about this election! So thank you all for the posts and happy voting to all!
