May be 2 more years...............
I meet with my attorney in preparing for for my next hearing & the IME appointment next week.

My attorney tells me the insurance company is making remarks about wanting to settle, this is on both knees.

The up coming court hearing is for adding my back to the wc claim, guess thats why the insurance company wants to settle now.

My attorney is also working on adding the carpal tunnel to my claim, he is requesting a letter from my doctor connecting the carpal tunnel to holding the cane.

Course I have mixed feelings about adding the carpal tunnel to the claim.

My attorney asked me today if I wanted to settle right away, and I told him no, my goal has always been to get my medical taken care of first, and settle second.

Attorney said then it may be another two years or longer before we settle.

RE: May be 2 more years...............
Bummer, I would rather ask you if that satisfiy you with this 2 year issue. I have to say it would make real good sense to me. The issue is, if the Attorney does get all the body parts put in as injuries to work, the lenght of time for Medical repair, Healing, Surgeries, and plenty of Therapy, is going to take up to about 2 years longer to take place. no doctor, would perform surgery, after surgery, after surgery, unless their completly Wacko.

RNvic

Thank you for asking, I have been having my share of headaches lately due to the neck injury. Taking the muscle relaxer, but not getting much relief.

Bad Boy

My goal is to get the medical taken care of and if it takes 2 years that okay.
I do hope the treatment involves more physical therapy then surgery.

I foundout today that in order to return to my job I need to meet the physical requirements of my job, and:
Pass a Certificate of Health Assessment by the state department of health and enviroment.
Pass a Staff Health Assessment for accrediation purposes.

One of the requirements of my job is to lift & carry up to 100lbs. My attorney said this requirement is written to involve 1/3 of the day.

RE: May be 2 more years...............
Bummer, if your case and Medical goes another 2 more years, I don't think I would have work on my mind for quite awhile, if you know what I mean.

But, if it all goes quick, then 3.22 hours of you work requirements would be to lift and what ever it is they want you to do.

If that new medication is helping that much, you may wish to ask for some trigger point injections into the those tight muscle, but you would need to take your new medication as prescribed also to work with it.

Bummer, if I'm correct, you still have;

1 Knee left yet = 3 to 8 months
Your lower Back (Spine) = 8 to 12 months
Carpal Tunnel = 4 weeks to 2 months
And still your Neck (Cervical Spine) = 8 to 12 months

Estimated healing time With PT...
Am I correct on that?

Bad Boy

You know me well, laughing.

My attorney went over the work requirements with me with the IME & court coming up. The health assessments are new requirements of my job.

I really don't think my job will take me back.

Would you want me in your preschool child's classroom? I would be the only teacher in the classroom, what would I do if a child was injured or had a medical emergency?

I am taking the new meds as directed, but getting little relief. Major headaches and neck spasms, to the point of getting sick at my tummy, and this happens daily.

Yep, you have it correct, other knee, back, carpal tunnel, & neck.

RE: May be 2 more years...............
Bummer have you ever inquired about Botox injections for your headache? Just a thought as this worked instantly for me and I was totally amazed. I had such bad tension from a spasm on the back of my neck ( knot ). I felt like a new woman as soon as I got it.

carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.
1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10%

Sparkey

I did read about this on one of the threads, and this is new information for me.

I will talk to my doctor about this.

Are your headaches related to your carpal tunnel?

Thanks,
Bummer Knees
