RE: FME
They are just going to do certain things like put you on a treadmill and see how long you can take walking. Have you lift things onto shelves that are in crates, and have you push and pull. They are just seeing what you are capable of doing.

Do not overdo yourself and if you cannot do certain things, do not do them. It is a overall test to see what type of restrictions you would have if going back to work. At least that is what they did for me at the beginning of my injury.

carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.
1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10%

Thanks people.

I think I had that done already. But this is a different place for me for ot and pt. Do they have to tell you when they are going to test you, or can they just observe. I ask because I am doing a exercise program that consist of pushing pulling carring lifting and of course the tredmill.

My last pt got into a little trouble she was alowing my ---ncm--- to tell her what to do with me. They pushed my to the point of no return lost about 2 months of progress. I am just afraid that she (ncm) is trying to tell the new PT to push me again. Oh well thanks for the input this site is awsome as allways.

RE: FME
Just remember to Stay within Your Dr.'s Restrictions, and not let the NCM Push You Around!! You know Your Limitations and what You can do, and if this Continues, Ask to be Referred Back to Your Surgeon so that You can be Re Evaluated by Them, that may Slow down the NCM! They are only there to get You Back to Work, Sometimes without Caring about Your Health. There are Good NCM's out there, they are Just Very hard to Find! My Very best, and I Hope You get this Straightened Out!!Wink

Smile RE: FME
Thanks for all your advice, been very helpfull. This ncm acts very nice to my face but I realy know what she is doing. She has in the past tried to get my regular doc to say I can return to work on narcotics. My job is driving, so my doc said no way. Even my employer says no way they wont be responsable for me to come back on pain meds. They say no restrictions all or none, still holding my job so far. How long they will keep holding it, I hope untill I can return.

Well thanks again.

RE: FME
If I were you, I would ask for a new NCM after what she just did. I would think that would be grounds for her dismissal!!!!
