just wondering
As you know I won my court date on 4/11/07 they have to pay medical and back pay and current pay. My question is do I have to sign any papers? and how long does it take for me to get any back pay? I was just wondering cause I have bills I need to pay. and also it has all ready been 3 months with no medical attention

RE: just wondering
Where are you located? Personally I would have cut your checks and paid the medical within 24 hours. Without knowing what state you are in I can not answer if you have to sign papers. Where I am located you do not have to sign papers. Also you may want to ask if you were/are represented if the carrier has to pay interest on your back comp payments.  Also, again  depending on the state you could request an advance agains future payments. Check in to that.
And get yourself back into treatment as soon as yesterday. Good Luck! ~Dallas307~ "Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle." |

RE: just wondering
I do not know Kansas but I have never heard of waiting for a WC Dr. to call them (are you talking about calling the insurance carrier?) As for the money typically a carrier will input a check and it will print over night then go in the mail the next day. So if you have not received it by Monday I would suggest you call your attorney and have him contact the carrier to put a move on it.

RE: just wondering
I think sis means the surgery date?
SIS- I received my back pay and such with in days after the approval (this was back in august/sept not this time around). It did take them several months to pay the bills though. One was almost a yr or right at the yr mark. |

RE: just wondering
Unless you are agreeing to a buyout or other factual determination like amount of permanent impairment you should not have to sign any papers.
Unless you've never worked in an office you can't think anything can get done overnight. Has anyone ever known the legal system to do anything fast? paperwork is the slowest work on earth; 10 aprovals and 3 checkers even to order a form....... I'd say 2 weeks is probably average. |
