ADMIN, but, when a new Drugs is made, it is mostly tested overseas on and with humans. Once it seems to work, the Drug companies start charging for the drugs, that would be said in use for 5 years before they come here for the FDA to approve. hence the thought that payment was made for 5 years say, this should have paid for the Technology it went into making the drug. Also, I read back a couple years ago, that a drug company was shipping med's to say Canada or another country, then shipping them back here, only so they could charge more for them. There was a women that use to work for a major drug company one day one the radio, and she said the exact same thing. Also a true fact, that my Blood test results proven, 2 different drugs I used, was switched to Generic's. Only after taking the Generics for 3 months, my Blood test proved they were not working like the Org Medications were. Doctor sent in a letter with a copy of my blood test to approve the Org medications again. They were approved. Plus, now these days, their finding out, older medications are working better in many cases. How Apple Cider Vinegar and Garlic can solve many problems. Even a stinky onion in ones socks at night when one has a common cold. Minced Garlic in ones socks for Athletes feet, walk around with it for the cure.

Malpractice suits should be capped. There doesn't have to be millions and millions of dollars spent on just one claim. I understand a life is priceless. But 60 million is also a little high of a price to pay when the life can't be brought back. And then the Doctor continues to serve people. Pull their License, let them learn their lesson, stiffen up on their fines. Make them re-school, and re-test, just like any other person might have to do. Get tough all the way around, and that would change also.

I guess this makes me one of the rare ones but I ask for itemized bills for everything and believe it or not I have found several thousand dollars worth of overcharges on my bills. Here is an example of outragious costs: $10,000 for a 5 minute helicopter ride. That is the bill I received. Now shoot when I saw that I almost had another heart attack. I think the envelope should be marked like roller coaster rides, "If you have a heart problem DO NOT OPEN" ask someone else to lessen the blow Tongue Seriously though I cannot understand the cost for that one. All in all (so far) my heart attack has cost over 60,000. OK I'm venting - sorry!!!.

As for McCain/Palin vs Obama/Biden I agree with Admin, since McCain chose Sarah Palin for his VP my interest has peaked. I am now paying attention again and looking forward for November.

Hi all, I for one am excited about the presidential race. The race has changed with sara palin on the republican ticket. I too was not familiar with her prior to her being picked so have listened to news programs talk shows and read everything i can get my hands on. I have no doubt in my mind if something happened to the president that this woman could step into the presidents shoes and do a fine job. I believe that when obama did not pick hillary he lost the race before it really got started. I am a republican and am so proud of my party. I also hate to see the dirty politics going on and the personal attacks on palin and her family but I do believe this will just make her and her family stronger as well as cause people to rally around her.

I have to admit that I watched Palin's speech just because earlier in the day they showed her daughter's boyfriend was there with the family and I wanted to hear what she had to say about her daughter being pregnant...yep, I wanted the scoop on it. She totally gained my respect when she said NOTHING!!! By saying nothing and by having him there with the family...she said it all!!! I was raised democratic and never thought I would even consider voting republican but....hmmmm MAYBE this election will be different..will have to continue to listen to the news. And I LOVED her joke!!! Brilliant strategy by McCain when he chose her as his running mate.
Always love your cubs unconditionally...they are a gift from God and someday they'll pick your nursing home!!

Just a thought BUT alot of what I am starting to pick up now is that many are considering voting republican BECAUSE of Sarah Palin. It's almost as if this election is being thought of by VP candidates and not presidential candidates. I for one always keep in mind who the running mate is, we have to BUT there is alot of talk about her taking over and that statistically will never happen. That being said............

On health insurance. I had three childre with no health insurance. Yes it was back in the 70's but still alot of money for Dr.s and hospital. The only bill I had itemized was my youngest. Outrageous. $15 for a tylenol that I was never given. That's only one ridiculous charge. Now that I have fantastic health insurance which I will no longer have wihtout paying for it once I settle I still look at charges. I call my inusrance co. whenever I feel they have been overcharged. For instance, they were billed for an exam at a specialist office . $400. I sat in the Dr.s office for 5 minutes and was never examined or touched. I am looking at my husband's bills now. $6000 a week for Oncologist and Chemo. Our insurance changed as of 9/1. We have co-pays you wouldn't believe. Now when I have an MRI it will cost me $60 instead of nothing. I am also aware of how much an MRI costs my insurance co. Si I have to say it's not just those with good insuranc ewho don't pay attention, because I do but it is also some of the ridiculous prices that are being charged. Why does one specialist get $150 for a visit and another gets $300. Both are performing basically the same service. There needs to be restricions and there aren't . It's a free for all. Just like WC. The IC is free to say and do whatever they want. JMO for the day.

I feel Sarah Palin was a good choice for McCain in his selection for VP. I also did not know much about this lady but I have sure been learning. I am very impressed with her and what she stands for. I feel if the Republican party wins this election they will do a good job for our country. I did enjoy listening and watching both conventions and hearing the speeches. I will continue to learn as the days go by. I feel I have heard all of what Obama has to say but I am not done with the Republican ticket yet. I am pretty sure I will be voting a Republican ticket although I am a registered Democrat. This has been a very interesting thead and I am enjoying reading everyone's thoughts and feelings on this very important election.

Just 143 days
> Interesting when it's put into perspective, isn't it? Just think how

> People want change so badly? . . . . maybe we should lower the

> Obama's 143 Days of Senate Experience
> Just how much Senate experience does Barack Obama have in terms of
> actual work days? Not much.
> From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United States Senator, to
> the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory
> Committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how
> many days the Senate was actually in session and working. The one single
> Senate committee that he headed never even met once. After 143 days of
> work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief,
> Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR,
> JFK and Ronald Reagan. Think about it.......143 days -- 20.4 weeks --
> 4.7 months . Our children spend more time in pre-school getting ready
> for kindergarten.
A newborn takes alot longer than this to form and at 20 weeks most likley wont live outside the womb....and most moms to be are at this time just starting to feel their unborn child move.....and according to Obama still just a choice at this point for a mom to abort.....

I for one, pay very close attention to what I am charged with my health insurance. My co-pay to my PCP is just $20, but to a specialist is $30. I pay for half of my insurance every month.

While I was in the hospital in Las Vegas for a 2 day period, I had my roomie bring me all of my meds, figuring that I would save on my bill. When I received the breakdown of the bill from the hospital, it showed that they had provided my meds. I saw red and contacted not only my insurance carrier, but the hospital. I told the carrier not to pay for them, and told the hospital that I would not be paying for something that I did not receive. They sent out a new bill, minus all of the medications.

Now here in TX, I recently received a statement from my pm for testing on a urine samply (I agreed to random testing when I signed the contract to become his patient), but they ran 27 tests on that sample. What in the world do they need 27 tests for ?? All they are to be checking for is to see that I am taking my scrips correctly and that I am not taking anything that they know I'm not prescribed. So I am going to run off a copy of the insurance statement and I want an explanation of every test that they ran and what it was to have shown, otherwise I am advising my insurance not to pay for it, and I'm not paying for it either. We should have the right to know what we are paying for before we pay for it.
