RE: How and why might these two cases differ?
I understand him I have any times seen a healthy looking person get out of the car in a handicap parking space and wonder whos tag he stole.....Since I got hurt my self I now know you can look perfectly healthy and a walk of several hundred feet get ya.....Some days I feel good and dont need that spot and I will walk from a normal parking spot somedays I need to use the handicap spot....I guess you almost have to live it to understand it

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

I Totally Agree Bad Boy with Your Assessment of this Post. To Look at Me, I Walk with a Cane and Drive, go to the Post Office and the Local Store, I can Drive up to an Hour at a Time, and I look Hurt, but by no Means do I Look Totally Disabled. But what Folks don't See is that it Takes Me 10 Medications a Day, including Methadone and Morphine, along with Sleeping in a Hospital Bed in My Den to be able to do the things I do. And then there are Times I can't Leave My House for up to a Week at a Time because the Pain won't Allow it. So I Agree with You that it is going to be Next to Impossible for this Person to get the Answer they are looking for here, You have to Live it to be able to Understand it. And the Only True Way to find out what They are looking for is as You Said, to Ask the Person. To the Person that Made this Post, Please don't be Afraid to Ask any other Questions You May have, We are here to try and Help Folks Understand and Deal with Injuries, and You will Never Learn unless You Ask Questions.Wink

Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled.

Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!!

Bad Boy Bad Boy Wrote:We can't please this poster, in our answers, or any answer, for they have never been in the position many of us are and have been in. The only answer this poster can get a truth answer to his question is to ask the person he sees.

Quite the contrary! I am very pleased with the informative responses I have received. They have opened my eyes quite a bit.
I can now envision scenarios where one could actually exercise daily, but not be able to sustain an eight hour shift, even in a desk job.
The example most easy to envision would be if one suffers a neck injury. I can see how the need for repetitive and /or sustained movements that most jobs require could pose too difficult a challenge or danger for those who have chronic pain.
At a health club, one does not have to exced their limitations.

The reason I choose not to ask this person about his condition is because of the high probability he has read this forum, and will therefore suspect I am the one who started this thread.

I am under the impression that some respondents erroneously surmised I was suspicious of this person for cheating the system.
It is therefore possible this person will form the same conclusion and hold a grudge if he connects me to this thread.
