comp offering a settlement

RE: comp offering a settlement
In Pa all settlements are by agreement of the parties. There is not a rating system or set scale unless it is a specific loss of a body part, which is not true in your case. With what little information is available, one year does sound low. If you have an attorney, he/she would be more familiar with the specifics of your case, and you should run your concerns past them. If you don't have an attorney, it sounds like it is time to get one. I am a PA attorney, so if you want to send me a message with your city of residence, I may be able to refer you to a competent attorney in your area, and I may know a doctor or two that would be willing to help you.

No surgeon would do surgery unless you signed a waver for the surgery and that you knew up front there are always chances the surgery may not work, or could cause other problems. You may need to stop blaming doctor's and other people, and try to just find out what is wrong. There are no promises when you had surgery.

Mr Belt and Bad Boy are Absolutely Correct! I am from Pa. also, and if You have Concerns with Your w/c Dr. You have the Right after 90 Days if You are not Healed to Choose the Dr. of Your Choice for a Second Opinion. The only Stipulation I Believe is that it has to be a Dr. in the Same Field of Expertise as Your Injury, which You would want anyway. That's why I'm saying You need an Attorney to Help You, All of the Money in the World is Worthless if You don't have Your Health!! Trust Me, I set in Severe Pain Daily, and would give Everything I Own if Someone could make it go Away!! You need a Good Attorney in Your Corner, You can Bet Your Bottom Dollar that the i/c has One on Their Side!!Wink

Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled.

Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!!
