Question about results of MRI
Okay...I'm looking at the results my PCP gave me for an MRI C-Spine and Cervical Spine X-ray he ordered for me. He also ordered an EMG and NCV done which came back positive for bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome. My PCP told me that my x-rays and mri came back negative for anything related to neck problems...I'm not having any neck or back pain problems either. So, my question is on the mri report it mentions at what they believe represents C4-5 mild uncovertebral hypertrophy with mild bilateral neural foraminal stenosis and no significan cental stenosis. At C5-6 there is uncovertebral hypertrophy causing mild right neural foraminal stenosis and mild central stenosis. There is suggestion of a left paracental disc osteophyte complex which contributes to left neural foraminal stenosis. In plain english can anyone tell me what this means?

Thanks ahead of time...

RE: Question about results of MRI
That's a simple one;

Arthritis baby....TongueTongue

So, altogether, your MRI shows mild disc narrowing between the 5th and 6th cervical vertebra, and an "artifact" of uncovertebral hypertrophy. Together, you have mild arthritis in your cervical spine, and there is no evidence of any pinched nerves or drastically herniated discs.

Your Google search words to use are > uncovertebral hypertrophy <

RE: Question about results of MRI
That's what I thought...not related to the carpal tunnel
