RE: Complications from scar tissue
Hi Vickinat
Yes, My PT session ends with a stim treatment and ice. I talked to my attorney Friday and updated him on the complications of scar tissue, manlupation and brace. I asked him if this would follow the normal course of treatment, and was told it should. He did say that the wc insurance company may decide to make things difficult and we may have to file for a hearing in court. My surgeon is one to seek approval from wc for everything, so I don't know how this will go as I spent two years in court getting the replacement surgery approved. |

RE: Complications from scar tissue
Thank you Bad Boy
I had physical therapy today with the therapist that has special training in replacement of knees and hips. My flexion today was 100 degrees, I was told this is acceptable. my extension is -7 degrees, which is a little better then last week. Wed I will have scar massage and Fri is the last physical therapy session. I see the doctor next Wed. |

I think so to Bad Boy. My appointment is the 30th and it is up to the doctor whether to write a new PT order.

RE: Complications from scar tissue
I had physical therapy today, with one pt session left. Today the therapist did scar massage of the knee and leg.
At the end of the sesson my extenson was measured at -6. I do feel what has helped most is getting in the swim pool and doing exercises. |

I think the Pool is one of the best, and helpped me also a whole lot.

RE: Complications from scar tissue
Today was my last scheduled session of physical therapy. The therapist had me working weight machines with 60 weights trying to get my knee straight. We worked a lot on streching the calf and hamstring muscles.
At the end of the session I was able to get -4 extension and, forced, (bouncing on the knee) 0. I am now having problems with bending the knee, this morning I had problems walking because I couldn't bend the knee very well. At the end of the pt session I was able to get to 95 degrees flexion (bending). I lost 5 degrees in bending the knee since Wed. Physical therapy increased scar tissue massage as I am having more problems with scar tissue. I see the doctor Wed and the head therapist wrote a letter to the doctor requesting more physical therapy sessions. To make the progress I am working very hard with my exercises, I did 40 minutes of pool exercises by 10:00 this morning. Monday I will be 5 weeks out from surgery. Bad Boy, What do you think, am I doing okay? |
