question for badboy????
I got a letter today from the oklahoma employment security commission that stated that the president signed into law extended unemployment compensation, when I lost my job 2 years ago I drew unemployment for 5 months , then took another year and half to get on ssdi so I might be wrong but it says I am eligible to draw more unemployment , will that affect my ssdi?I found somthing on the ssa sight that says unemployment benefits are not counted under the social security annual earnings test and so do not affect your receipt of ss benefits.I searched for jobs within my restrictions at that time but no one would hire me with my restrictions, could do it again I guess. What do you think.?Thanks Halftrak

RE: question for badboy????
Hi halftrak
I saw I started a thread with the same tittle as this thread, sorry that was an accident as I had some knee questions for Bad Boy. My understanding is with unemployment you must be able to work and with social security disability you qualify because you are not able to work. I am in Kansas and each state is different when it come to unemployment. Social Security Administration has a program that will help an individual receive trainning and return to work. |

RE: question for badboy????
Halftrak, might I try this on you?
If I had thought in the back of mind, that if I collected Unemployment, would SSDI find out? Makings for a good question isn't it? If I thought, that they will find out, will they then think I don't need SSDI for I should be employable if I am taking money for unemployment? Now Halftrak, your read my questions that I would first ask myself. I wouldn't want to give anyone a upper edge to stir my pot. Would you? Who knows what people will think behind close doors on us? What will they do? Do you still want me to now answer your question, just let me know? Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. thanks bummer, no problem on the post being the same.I got that ticket to work thing a while back from ssa but the only places I saw that used it were a hundred miles from where i live, can't afford the drive.I miss working but am thankful i finally got on ssdi.I think I have just been down in the dumps lately.Or bored to death.I would love to go back to work but don't know if I can, my shoulders still ache all the time, now have tendonitis in both arms, hope you are feeling better, halftrak

RE: question for badboy????
Halftrak, sometimes when money becomes an injured workers problem, the injured worker could become their own best enemy.
The old saying goes, if it aint broke don't try and fix it... For if we do, it will become broke.... If I wasn't on SSDI, I surely will pick apart every avenue available to get money. But once Awarded SSDI, I would then do nothing that might up-set it down the road. All I'm doing is giving you things to think about. I don't know what unemployment checks would do to your SSDI Award. But remember what the DI in SSDI means... If you can live without unemployment checks, would you, could you, should you? That is only a choice that is left in your hands.... Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. Thanks for being there and I have always respected your opinions badboy.i know what you are saying.Everything is cool, I'm going to go jump in my son's pool now. LOL halftrak

That's it, suck up some rays, and enjoy the pool....
![]() You know, I couldn't let go of the working thing for a long time too. But since I have come to peace with myself, I now enjoy saying (I Am Retired) and only 53 years old. And don't you worry about having a bad day, I get them too...

I have a cure for being bored. Once I am up and around and able to; we need to hit the casino. Remember, we talked about it in Tulsa, now we need to do it! |
