Ime result
Well, I just read IME report and it states, my neck/shoulder pain is non existant and I can return to my job of injury full time. This IME doctor seen me the second time and he gave me a 5% total impairment rating in 2007 on both sides for carpal tunnel/trigger fingers. He stated again, no change in his ratings as no additional problems exist. This doctor reports, when he examined my right shoulder I was in a lot of pain but when he "distracted" me with other exams, he lifted my arms at same level and I did not indicate any pain that time?
Is he telling I was faking the pain? He sent me for EMG/Nerve Conducting Test and it showed no nerve problem, althoug it still showed"very mild" carpal tunnel(they tested my right hands/arms/shoulder only). Not sure what's next. I am in pain, that's all I know and I am frustrated. Kat |

I can't make answers to what went on at the IME visit. But, I will ask, as it is quoted above; Did that really happen? Talking about the "distraction". Did that take place? RE: Ime result
Kat, from Reading what He Stated, Sorry to Say, but He is saying that You are not Experiencing Shoulder Pain because when You didn't realize it He Raised Your Arm and You didn't show Signs of Pain!! So He Basically Stated You are not being Truthful about the Shoulder Pain! My Suggestion is to get a Second Opinion of the IME, if You have an Attorney You should Speak to them as soon as Possible, and if You don't have Counsel, it seems like You are going to Need it! Some of these IME Dr.'s I Swear have no Soul and will do Anything and Write Anything just for the i/c Money they are Paid!! You need to Speak to Someone Soon and get this Straightened Out! Good Luck, and Please Keep Us Informed!!

RE: Ime result
There is a test in my opinion that can be done to prove pain. I think its and (I Stat Test) or (Stat Test) something like that. It monitors sweat, blood pressure oan other things to prove pain exist.

RE: Ime result
Technically the existence of pain cannot be proven. Pain behaviors and pain effects are observable and somewhat measurable.
From the AMA Guides chap 18 PAIN: "Pain is subjective. Its presence cannot be readily validated or objectively measured. Thus, pain can exist without tissue damage, and tissue damage can exist without pain. In summary, there is no “pain thermometer,†that is, no biological measure that correlates highly with individuals’ complaints of pain. An individual’s pain-related impairment is considered unratable if (a) his or her behavior during the evaluation raises significant issues of credibility, (b) he or she has clinical findings atypical of a well-accepted medical condition, or ( c ) he or she is diagnosed with a condition that is vague or controversial." your state is not listed in your profile so I don't know if the AMA guides are used for work comp rating. |

RE: Ime result
Q Sart Test;
This is the correct name of the test. I do think, it's a test which is close to the same as testing people to see if they have (RSD) or (CRSD). The test works with in many ways, such as sweat, cardio differences, breathing differences and so on. My understanding of pain from surgeons and doctors are if one is in pain, the pain can't be measured. But by having a respitory device hooked up, Heart rate monitor hooked, and sweat testing will atleast show when pain did happen. The grade of the pain would be unknown, but I've been told, pain can be shown in this type manner. I may not have all the needed information on it, but this is what I can offer. RE: Ime result
Thanks for the replies.
1171, I am in Washington state and looks like info was lost when this website went down last week..I updated my profile. Bad Boy, thanks again for the info. Do you know what kind of specialist knows about this "pain test" or where can you get it? Regarding what happened at my latest IME(or not happened)...my daughter was with me and can be a witness. The whole IME took about 15 minutes..this doctor scheduled at least 6 patients in a 3 hour period, it was Saturday afternoon, the doctor was running late already and he seemed like out of breath. He remembered me from last year, started reading some of my medical records, listened what I had to say, did some measurements on my fingers, lifted my arms one at a time and TWISTED my right arm. I screamed because of the pain, he dropped my arm and said, oke I am ordering EMG test and someone from the office will be shceduling it. He ran out without saying good by and we didn't even know if it was over or he is coming back until a girl came 10 minutes later saying they will call regarding the EMG test. So I don't know where he gets it he distracted me with other exams and I didn't show pain that time. Last year this doctor was late with my IME report because he was in Europe for a while. Same happened this year, he went to Italy and was late with my report again. Looks like, he funds his frequent europian visits with IME's and not afraid to lie. I figured, just that Saturday afternoon he must have made at least $12000.00 doing IME's. I know, one day he has to answer for his lies to a Higher Being and will get what he deserves. Still in Limbo..I do have a lawyer and already e-mailed him what to do. I monitor my claim online so when I see some kind of action I ask my lawyer what is the next step. Kat |
