RE: any ideas?
Hi all...not sure that it is chicken pox, just the symptoms led me in that direction for as the worse case situation. However, if it go worst when she went outside, is she allergic to something outside. What is there now, this time of year that was not there before she developed the rash? If an allergy Tuffy suggestions are great and will most likely relieve her of itching if she feels that at some point. Is she scratching as of yet. If it is chicken pox, it will be crusting over within the next 24-48 hours. Love Red

RE: any ideas?
Hi hurt....the sun block makes sense. My daughter said the only one she found to work and not make her kids break out if Banana Boat for kids SPF 30. I believe it's also waterproof. I think what happens is that when they get hot and sweaty if there an irritant or allergin in the lotion and their pores are open they break out in combo with the sun and heat. It would make sense as to why it's not in the diaper area or under her arms. My youngest was allergic to polyester. Being born in the 70's everything had it in there. I used to put her for a nap at around 9-10 months in her clothes. Her legs had this horrible rash. 3 dermatologists later and he told me to put her for a nap with just her t-shirt and diaper. Rash was gone within days. Glad you found out. CAP God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |

RE: any ideas?
Hurt, Can you ask your pharmisist what is a good sunblock for toddlers, I would think that some may be too strong for young uns, and only be used for adults. How about Johnson & Johnson........ Boy it has been awhile sinse I have had little ones.......

Hurt...I am glad your wife took her too the doctor... it may be an allergy and it does make sense that it could be your sun block. She will soon have some relief from this rash..and you and her mom some relief from worry.... love Red

RE: any ideas?
hi red (:
i thought the same thing about the sun block then i went and looked and its banana boat for kids hypoallergenic and we have been using it for awhile.so im still not sure.one thing i forgot was shes been swimming alot in the neighbors pool and i thought maybe they may of had the chemicals to high or low thought that might have something to do with it.but they have had this pool for 20 years so you would think they would have it under control by now,but you never know.no one else has got a rash yet and that imcludes me two neices.still wondering will see in a couple days.it not any worse maybe alittle better maybe.thx all ur awsome. RE: any ideas?
hurt...this also makes a lot of sense... too much cholrine could create a rash, whereas a dirty pool will cause other types of skin complications much more serious. Hope all works out soon. However, you said that the major locations of the rash were on her extremities (arms and legs) and if it was something created from the water in the pool, I would think she would have a rash on her trunk as well. This has been a mystery for all of us. Thanks for sharing and hope we were all helpful. Love Red

RE: any ideas?
Did everyone see how the west has a outbreak in the " measles"? There is a bunch of states reporting outbreaks in Cal. etc. Not that it is what i am thinking is wrong with the baby, but was wondering if anyone has heard about it yet?
