Hubbies surgery
As you all know my Hubby went in for surgery last Monday morning for a TURP and to remove a large stone from his bladder. After the surgery the surgeon came out and said everything went as planned. The irrigation cath got clogged several times during the day, but all seemed about normal. 9PM on Monday I started to get really worried. My husband who as the ones who came to the Castle know has a good tan. By 9PM he began to look pale to me and I reported this to the RN in charge. All of a sudden all HE// broke lose. 4 nurses could not get the cath to irrigate. Hubbies abdomen became enlarged and rigid irrigation fluid came to a stop. Not that I am any smarter than the nurses in the hospital, but working in a nursing home I work with caths more than they do
and I told them I believed it was clogged. Finally after 3 hours I
made them call the surgeon in and he finally got it flushed. Hubby had trouble all night and the cath continued to clog up from clots. This went on all day Tuesday and when the surgeon came back in I told him there was something desperately wrong. He opted to take The Daver back down to surgery to see what was up. This was at 6:45 they told me he would be out of surgery by 7:30. They had to give him a spinal because he had eaten. By 9 PM he still wasn't out. They had put me in a waiting room and of course at that time of night there is no one around the OR. I kept seeing the one RN running by with blood and I knew it had to be for Hubby since no one else was being operated on. Finally at about 9:15 the RN came out and said the Dr. would be out to talk to me and Dave was doing better. They took him to ICU for 2 days and he had 7 units of blood. I finally got to bring him home Thursday evening and of course unfortunately the forum was down so I couldn't tell all of you wonderful people what had happened. Thank all of you for your prayers and support through this trying time. I love and appreciate all of you and please even thou he is feeling better continue to pray for Dave. The surgery Tues was because the lining of his bladder became one huge clot and had to be cut out piece by piece because it had hardened. Thanks again and I will keep you updated.

GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY AND OUR PRESIDENT!

RE: Hubbies surgery
Believe me I am living on Percocet. I hate to take it, but I have no choice right now
since the leg and back pain is killing me. Hopefully the loopy feeling will pass and I won't have to run him to the hospital.......I am just so worried about him that I have to do what I have to right now.

GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY AND OUR PRESIDENT!

RE: Hubbies surgery
Backache...I am so sorry you both went through this. Glad Dave is on the mend now. I did exactly what you did while my husband was in ICU after his surgery. Seven days of the worse sciatica attack I've ever had. I took the pain pills which I hate to take and rarely do, but had to. You're right we do what we have to do. You are both in my prayers and will continue to be. Hoping for a speedy recovery now that he's out of the woods. God bless both of you.
