RE: FLORIDA TRIP
I cant get a stright answer out of them...I have tried the site all it says is I must go for a full week then all the rooms are booked......now I will admit I am not the brightest crayon in the box but how do you save enough if you dont have any idea how much you need?just a small one bedroom for the week to see if there is any way possiable.....and like Red I will have to stay inside cuz I cannot take the humid heat at all.....and if I get to come it will be by myself as the kids are in school and someone has to stay with em as Becca will still be away at collage....

RE: FLORIDA TRIP
I would love to go, so I am sure working on this trip. $80.00 a night sounds great. Is that for the one bedroom or is that a higher rate? Del and I are going to try and will know for sure by January if we can financially or not. This trip is sounding better and better all the time. Love Red

RE: FLORIDA TRIP
Ok Gals I will call Dawn at the resort tomarrow and see what the scoup is, I will ask her what the rates will be for a min of 3 nites and a max of 7 nites, for 2 1bedroom suites, and 4 standard rooms with 2 double beds . We can always change the room needs when we make the reservations. say from 2 beds to one, a suite to a standard with 2 double , etc at least we will have some idea of the cost. that way. I do know that off season for a mini efficiency with micro, coffee maker and frig is 89.00 per nite......... and that is at the tropical shores resort. I do not know what the tropical Sun resort charges for a standard double room.

RE: FLORIDA TRIP
Jayne if you have to come alone, would you be ok with sharing a room with someone and splitting the room rate? That is what we are going to do.

RE: FLORIDA TRIP
May can be a warm month here, but the last two years it has been fantastic. Lower to mid eighties and low humidity. Hopefully that will be the case this next year as well. It can be a very nice time here - plus alot of the pesky tourists have gone home.

RE: FLORIDA TRIP
Admin, Thanks for the weather report, We changed the date to May so others would have a chance to catch up on there finances. I for one am really looking forward to meeting you, and sitting down and learning all about how this site came into being. We do have alot of time before May, So if you have any other ideas of were we could stay that would be good and on the Gulf, reasonable, we can always change the resort. The reason I picked the one I did was because of the location on the beach, it is small, quaint, ,kitchens, BBQ areas, accesable for wheel chairs and mostly on one leval. It appears to be close to alot of attractions, shopping villages, etc.The Sarasota airport, and a short drive to other small towns. I would love to drive to Nakomis and the Jetti and maybe do alittle fishing or see the Sea Cows ( Manatee )
I hope this change did not in any way disrupt any plans you may have had......... Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain. |

RE: FLORIDA TRIP
Tuffy, as you know I am concerned about the weather..so thanks admin for the heads up, however, I would suggest we all go in may because the cost of the room changes greatly. I can always stay mostly inside. I do go out side when it is hot of course, I just have to be careful. So May is good, and Del and I will be driving down. We most likely will not stay more than 3 nights also. Del doesn't want to stay more than a few nights. I would stay all week, but if he is really to come which he is, then I thought that I could compromise on the number of days that we will be there.
jayne...I missed something. Are you going to come? That is great. If it were just me, I would share a room with you, but Del will be there also. I am so glad you are coming, but we will miss Bill. Tuffy...has backache said anything about coming. That would be great also. The more the merrier. Love Red Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind. |

RE: FLORIDA TRIP
Red you know my panic attacks so I doubt Bill would let me come alone....hopeful wishing I guess...as kids will still be in school and I cant take em out for that long as it would be a 2 day drive one way.....so most likely not....
