FLORIDA TRIP
Hello everyone, Because the Castle trip and the Florida Trip were so close, I after talking to a few members here had decided to go to Florida in April, Instead of Oct...... This would give anyone who wanted to go , time to prepare..

I will still be making the trip myself with a couple of others. If anyone else is interested in joining us, please let me know. After a head , or room count I will be posting more info.
I have already talked to the Resort and they have given us a group rate. Anyone can pm me and I will be glad to give you more information.

RE: FLORIDA TRIP
Tuffy I didn't say that I wasn't going to go to Florida. If that is where the group is that is where I want to go. I was just agreeing with monster and CC that we should try to do something more on the west coast eventually. I would like to meet them as well. Honestly I don't care where we go, I just want it to be all together and ADA assessible with a pleasant environment. Even Del is getting close to all of you so why not plan a get together every year attempting to meet everyones needs so that no one person spends a lot of money to visit. Del and I will still go to Florida, however, if the group wasn't going, Florida just isn't some place I would choose to go for very long. Tuffy there are a lot of reasons for that but it is mostly my health. Tuffy, I was in Okinawa where the humidity is very high for 6 weeks and I was running and for the first time I lost my legs and went down to the ground. I sat there for almost 4 hours before they came back enough that I could stand up on them again. Then it happened again about 4 months later. I never said anything to anyone for a fear of what it was. However, I said that to say, that according to my doctors the heat and humidity bring me down very fast. We can go to florida, but I can't enjoy the beach or being outside at all. My temperatures must be stable. The doctors in the Navy who did the testing and diagnosed me with MS stated that if I had never went to Okinawa the MS would most likely have stayed dormat but the heat activated it. It is because of the inability to go on the shore and the possible result of the heat and humidity that I would not go to Florida unless that is where everyone is meeting. Then I will risk it, because I feel it is worth it to be with you all. Even right now, I am loosing my right eye again... most likely do to the heat at the castle. But always know I would do it again. I knew it was a risk and I went inspite of it. Tuffy, I live with a bomb. I never know when an eye will go, or my legs will give out, my hands will drop something, or I will not be able to get up after getting down, loose my balance and fall when I am out, or just plain learn to walk again. I have done that twice in the past 11 years. There are so many other issues that are not worth mentioning because I am very use to them. Never in a million years would I want to hurt you are anyone else on here. Please understand that I am saying that I will go where the group is going. I don't care if it is back to Okinawa I would do my best to be there inspite of the risks. Please do not be hurt.. love you Red

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

RE: FLORIDA TRIP
I have made it known money is the issue with us....a stay at a resort with the high meal costs just isnt in the cards for us or any one still going thru WC or trying to recover from it.....thanks to the good hearts of many on the trip to Pa. we couldnt have went otherwise.....And like Red the moist heat makes the pain worse for me......Dont want to hurt feelings but both trips that failed were to hi dollar resorts where the costs were out of my budget....I still have a daughter in collage and 3 more at home.....And money is tight...maybe not so for others....I hope you all have a good time in Fla and take lots of pictures....

RE: FLORIDA TRIP
Tuffy, April sounds better for me too! If I return to work soon, I should have some vacation time accrued by then. I will make my own reservations, etc. if I am able to go. Thanks for taking into consideration those who went to the Castle Trip and funds. Tongue

Let Go, and Let God......

RE: FLORIDA TRIP
Thanks everyone, I understand about the health issues, but as far as the cost, the resort and cost of the rooms would be no more , and maybe even less than what the rooms cost in Tulsa. and we would have access to a full kitchen, and BBQ area for those that wished to share meals together. No large expensive meals, Cereals, frruits, etc, sandwichs, soups, etc, Burgers, Brats, hot dogs, salads, etc just to give you some ideas.
Check out the site, http://www.tropicalshores.com but also remember to look at the sister resort on the same property that may even suit some others needs.
Picture yourself walking barefoot on the white sand beach looking for shells, or taking a dip in the heated pool, or just sitting in the shade of a palm tree with a cool drink, sharing a laugh or a quiet moment with a friend or loved one. Now I don't know about you all, but that to me is a vacation or a great get together Can you hear the sound of the waves washing upon the shore???????

RE: FLORIDA TRIP
Jayne, I will talk to the resort again, but it was less than 80.00 a nite. and she did say the weekly rate would be less. She also said the more rooms we reserve the better the rate, so that is why I need some idea of how many rooms we may need. There are 2 resorts side by side and they share the same grounds. The Tropical shores resort is the largest, and the other is smaller and cheaper, but they both are owned by the same property and share everything. There are different types of rooms, from mini eff, to 2 and 3 bedroom suites, I am renting a 1 or 2 bedroom suite, so we can have a full kitchen and someplace for all to gather, cook or just hang out. I will be sharing it with 2 or 3 others.
