Got sick not injured
My employer pays all my exspenses while I travel to do service calls. I am on salary. I got very sick and called 911 and went to the hospital. I was in ICU for 3 days and 1 day in a room. Is he responsable for my medical bills? And I have been with the company just under my 3 month probation period.(No payed time off yet) I am now recovering and cant work for a week. What can I do?

RE: Got sick not injured
raj4994- was the illness do to something expossed to or just a health issue? If it is expossure then it may be covered. If you can prove that what ever caused you to be hospitalized was something that you have a alergy to and your employer was aware before then you may be able to get it covered. Check you state information and that may help. Welcome to the forum, come often , ask questions or just share.

RE: Got sick not injured

Hi raj>> I agree with RN. IF it wa ssomething you contacted due to your work then it would be covered. If it is/was a personal health issue then no it wouldn't be covered under WC. I think you're asking if your employer since they pay all of your travel expenses SHOULD pay the hospital bills and your salary while you were ill. There is no law. It would be up to each individual employer as to how well they treat their employees. I guess in a nutshell no the employer is not respinsible for your bills UNLESS you became ill due to something regarding your job.
