Medical update on me

Through the past 2 weeks of hubby's surgery and the week before getting his testing all done I had 3 MRI's and multiple follow-up appt. with my PM DR. and my spine specialist. There will be no surgeries on either my cervical or lumbar spine. The stenosis in my neck is bad but since I haven't worked it has stopped progressing. No more damage since the last MRI weeks after I was injured. Lumbar has deteriorated a little more and is causing multiple sciatica attacks. Knee and ankle are still causing the the back problems to get worse since there's nothing to do to fix either of them. My shoulder MRI showed multiple problems that weren't there before my shoulder surgery. Need to see another Ortho. PM DR. doesn't think any of it is repairable. So here I sit finally knowing that nothing can be done. I'ts over 2 years now and I have accepted it. Both Dr.s believe a wellness problem of aquatics for my back will be very beneficial. The last time I tried it under WC the adjuster gave the billing people a hard time over the phone. Never refused to pay the bill but told them my back isn't covered which of course it is. From what my attorney tells me this is ok in my state for the adjuster to say whatever as long as she doesn't refuse to pay a bill BUT the facility won't let me have PT there on her word . So this is something that will have to wait until I settle and I will join an aquatic group on my own.So I am at MMI I guess. My last IME said I could return to work with no restrictions but I have 2 Dr.s treating me who say otherwise. My attorney is in the process of getting things ready for court as the IC has filed to stop my cchecks and of course my attorney appealed it. At this point Hubby and I are just hoping to get as well as we can, be done with this WC mess and live our lives in peace.

Cap- I am sorry to hear there is nothing that can be done for the pain in your back. What did they find with your shoulder? Is it repairable? Check with the Y for a aquatic group, if it is like the one here it is only 3.00 per class and sure helps. You and hubby are in my prayers.

Hi cap.... An aquatic program would be great for most any injury. RN had a great idea. YMCA may have a great program, however, have you located one in a safe area. Cap...also we have a pool...not like the YMCA...and I like to swim daily usually... come swim with me a few times a week and maybe you will feel better....just a thought. Love Red

RN and Red......Problem is WC as usual. Yes I have a Y 2 minutes away BUT ours is not cheap and I've been told by my attorney that since my back is part of my claim I can't do any sort of PT not authorized or overseen by a Dr. and licensed PT. I have another place 5 minutes away that way let me get PT there IF I supply them with a back up Referrel from my private health insurance. If not I will have to wait until I settle and then will take it from there. I did aquatics for my back , knee and ankle when first injured for about a month and felt alot better. If I don't do it regularly I go back to sq. one. My adjuster is a witch. ALthough the Judge gave me all 5 body parts she likes to play games and for instance say it's my right shoulder that's covered when in reality it's my left and then they refuse treatment. I'll be fine, it's just going to take time. Red thanks for the offer but I have a hard time driving 15 minutes. Someday........

Oh Cap, I'm sorry you've been given the words you didn't want to hear. but you've already prepared yourself, and accepted the fact that things are, the way they are.
Now if you only knew ' why ? ' You will get your water PT in the end..remember that.
Ya know i'd be nasty enough to go ahead & take PT on the wrong shoulder and play the same game as your witch adjuster! Let them pay for her bad memory or poor reading abilities!!!

Cap., the i/c will File a Form for Superceadus, which Means the Stopping of Your Checks A.S.A.P.! When Your Attorney Files a Motion to Suppress the Superceadus, in Most Cases the Judge will Deny the i/c's Motion, and You will be Paid throughout the Entire Hearings Process and until the Judge Orders Their Final Decision! That's exactly how it went for Me, and a Hearing is Usually not needed for that, the Judge has to reply within I believe 20 Days of the i/c's Motion. So You won't have to wait too long to find out about Your Pay! I know Oh Too Well how it Feels to be told You are Broken and can't be Fixed, it's a Tough Pill to Swallow, but We will be Here to Help You through!! I want you to stay strong as I already know that you are. I was told by a few differant surgeon that there was nothing that could be done for my back either, except for going to PM the rest of my life.

Then when my surgeon who did my neck looked at the lumbar MRI for me, he saw the herniation that was compressing my L4 exiting nerve and had a fragment there as well. This was also on the written report. He told me that he could do the surgery and relieve the majority of my pain, but as with any surgery, there were no guarantees. Granted W/C denied anything after the car accident, but my health ins. is taking care of things for now.

I do noticed a big differance in the neck pain and no longer getting the daily headaches since that surgery. It is still possibly to soon to notice whether the back surgery has helped yet or not, but I'm staying optomistic.

God Bless you Cap for hanging in there on your long road to recovery. I pray for you and your husband every day, even though I am not able to post as much as I used to. My hand prevents me from typing or writing more than 10 mins. at a time.
