Smile Hubby is home

My husband came home Saturday afternoon. He is still in extreme pain and very weak BUT this is to all be expected. He has a long hard road ahead of him for a full recovery. We don't have pathology results yet but are praying all the cancer is gone. He gets his staples out on thursday. I don't think either of us truly realized how intense this surgery would be and how much he would be cut. Surgeon feels he's healing "on schedule". I finally got him in bed early this morning and he's sleeping soundly. He was more comfortable on the recliner Sat night and tried again last night but couldn't get comfortable. It's so hard to see him this weak. He's a big strong man and just walking across the room winds him. Thank you all so much for your love, support and friends. I know God heard you.

Love,
CAP

RE: Hubby is home
>>>It's good to see that hubby is home amd doing as well as the doctors expected. I can relate to sleeping in the recliner but only for pain from pleuritis and pneumonia instead. You know Cap, it probably bothers him with you seeing him as weak as he is right know also. He is probably feeling very vulnerable and still very scared. Have they started talking about rehab yet? I am in no way a doctor but I know rehab helped me a lot dealing with S.O.B. (shortness of breath), learning how to self monitor, and moving forward with my life. I know his situation is different but I'm sure it will help.
>>> Best of luck with your comp issues also, Cap. Maybe it is all starting to fall into place where you can get the help you need and hubby will improve at the same time.

Cap, I am so happy to hear that your husband is home. You are right in your assessment about lung surgeries. To remove a lung or even a lobe from a lung is a very extensive surgery. It appears he is making progress. We will continue to pray for God to continue to bless him on his road towards recovery. Love Red

Grandma says, Glad to hear things are finally heading in the right direction for you both. Take care and listen to your Drs. It just takes time to heal. Good thoughts and prayers are being sent to you both. Stay strong Cap and know that you can make it through this tough time.

RE: Hubby is home
What wonderful news, that your hubby is home!
It will take time to heal....and the first few days back home will be the hardest to endure....as he's left the security of the hospital.
Try a pillow against his chest & see if it helps his breathing.
Prayers still going up for you both!!!!
