RE: Out of the system!
I hope you know what you are doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I am not mistaken, you have given up ALL rights to medical care. If you have no need for further medical care, then I have no issue with what you are doing. If you may have a need for further medical care related to the injury, then I would NOT cash the check. I hope you understand what I am saying.

Take Care my friend and PS. If you get any rain, send it SOUTH. LOL

RE: Out of the system!
AQA, I would have been payed off in 6 weeks. I am just getting the remainder all at once.It can be done if you have been back to work for three months from impairment rating.Medical doesn't go away because of it.The only thing I said is that I wasn't disputing the rating because I wasn't going to anyway.

RE: Out of the system!
Beth,

You and I are in the same situation with a dominant hand problem. I remember you said once that they gave you 0 rating. Then they made a mistake and gave you another rating i cannot remember. Did you just agree with that rating? Are you back to work full time doing the same thing? Is your medical still open?

I am asking all this because I have a hearing coming up in a few weeks because of a rating dispute. I was just curious what your rating was that you settled at and if you go to pain management monthly to control your pain still. I was given a settlement amount, but because of the dispute of differences in ratings i am forced to go to a hearing before any check is given to me. I also want my medical to continue as i am going to be given injections in my neck soon to control the pain in my arm/hand.

carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.
1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10%

RE: Out of the system!
In Texas, you can't close medical.I did get a rating of 7 % which my doctor said for me to take.I have been working since the rating and that is why I am eligible to get the remainder due to me.

Since I have been working,my pain level has gone way down. There is something to say about work hardening that you hear about.I don't go to pain management.I still have pain, but it is not near as bad as it once was.I still get medication from the doctor though.
