Loosing a lake
Sad This is really bad, In Wisconsin , Wisc Dells, a larg sink hole has opened up between Lake Delton, ( famous for Tommy Bartlett water ski show ) and the Wisc River, The lake is draining into the river, They are working ,trying to stop the damage, or they could loose the lake. There have been several homes already lost. This is a large lake.... and it is still raining there.

We here in Northern Il may be clear of rain at least for the day..

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
It's about learning to dance in the rain.

Tuffy..this is horrible. I hope the people experiencing this flood and loss their homes had insurance. I heard something about it this morning on CNN and they said that 80% did not have any flood insurance because they were not with in 100' of a flood zone. Thanks for sharing. Love Red

RE: Loosing a lake
I saw some of the damage in your area on the news today. It's unbelievable to see all the damage and see houses floating down the river. Hope you are not too close to it.

RE: Loosing a lake
Tuffy- saw the lake on the news and glad to know that you are at least a mile away. We are calling for rain tonight and hope it passes very quickly. The water is still coming up and more roads are closed. They are hopping we don't get the storms again for a few days, but calling for rain Tues and Thurs. Said we are going to get a lease another 3 inches this week. So maybe we had better start the Ark.

May God send his angels to hold you in his arms

RE: Loosing a lake
I live right on the Il/Wis state line. I live a mile from the Rock River. The wis Dells are at least an hr from me, but I spend a lot of time there at the Indian Casino, Ho Chunk Nation,
My friend Gail's mother lives just outside the Dells, But she is ok.
Tweety, stay dry and safe,
Sweet, it looks like it may be heading your way. I sure hope so. The rain, not the storms.

RE: Loosing a lake
darn Lake is gone. As myself also, I use to live my summers up in these areas, and I too hung out with the Indian's. Since this Lake was Man Made, I'm sure it will be repaired and filled again. In my thinking also the Lake needed to be cleaned too, but sadly a way to be done.
