Good morning all....Some of you may know that hubby is in the hospital again with another pneumonia. Since this was his week to do all follow up tests in hope to get him in surgery, they have all been done in the hospital. Today is the last. It's a bronchoscopy which will really be a deciding factor. This morning the oncologist came in and told him he wants a second surgical opinion form one of the large city hospitals. The problem is still the location of the tumor. The surgeon here feels he will need an oxygen tank 24/7 if he has the surgery, hence the second opinion. Not happy news. Funny how when he was first dx everything was so promising. The tumor is like a pin-dot BUT it's the location of it that makes surgery very difficult. I know your prayers are with us. Please keep them coming. He told me over the phone and I could hear the fear in his voice. I hope this bronchoscopy today shows something different. Love to all, CAP God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |

RE: Update on hubby
Tell your hubby that the bronc is nothing to sweat about. I had a broncoscopy about a year ago with a brochial lavage. They also tested fluids extracted to see if there was a cancer because that is what my PCP thought it was why the pneumonia was recurrent . I guess I was lucky, that came out negative but there was a fungus present in my lungs along with the pneumonia and was possibly causing recurrent pneumonias. My PCP then referred me to a pulmonoligist because they were not sure what to do. He was at a loss for a while why I was having recurrent pneumonias for awhile. Then some of the pieces began to come together after a couple visits to the pulmo. I discovered that any time I was near where I work now or even close to people that still had their work clothes on I had and still have a servere allergic reaction to just the odor in the air. I have not been near my workplace since last August and have not had the servere reactions since but my immune system is so screwed up now that I have problems with many other allergens now. I don't know how I will do with the hot weather yet because I spent most of last summer indoors sick. So far so good on the warmer weather.

RE: Update on hubby
Limbo...thanks for the prayers. keep them coming. I am having one of the worst sciatica attacks I have had in years and just wish something besides a Dr.s visit and a shot that messes my diabetes up would work. CD.....Hubby had a bronc when they did his biopsy. No problem. Short and sweet. His fear is the oxygen tank for life as they believe right now he'll need it if they do surgery. He will have to get this second opinion from the larger hospital. Thanks for your caring, CAP God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |

RE: Update on hubby
Hi all.... Cap, I wish there was something I could do to help also. I know that the stress and fear of all of this is overwhelming on you all...then add your pain, you must be feeling exhausted. Always remember that while you continue to take care of your husband, you must find time to take care of YOU as well. You not be any good to anyone if you over do it now. Take it easy. You pain could be a response to tighting muscles from anxiety, stress, and over doing. One or all three can cause your muscles to tightnen creating pain. Take care...call if you need to talk...love Red
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind. |

RE: Update on hubby
RN,Tuffy,Jayne and DEB.........I also wish I could hug all of you and get some back. I've said it many times. My closest 3 friends for life have all passed away in the past 5 years so at times I feel very alone. Without all of you I don't know where I'd be. I'm OK as long as I know you are all there with me praying by my side. I'm a little scared now. It isn't so much a dangerous surgery BUT it's the damn location (sorry ADMIN) They've done alot of tests and I'm just hoping that the tank won't be required because his other lung is weak. The second opinion will come from one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country so there is hop. I don't want him to lost hope. I'm strong, but if he posses his positiveness I don't know how much strenghth I'll have to keep us both upbeat. So far we're doing good. He was having some problems that were getting out of hand with his pain killers for his back. He told all of his Dr.s and I am so proud. I need to think and remember before I act for my own sake. My body needs tender loving care and if I wasn't thoughtless to it I wouldn't be in this sciatica attack now. Live and Learn. Love, CAP God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |
