RE: two-level fusion,ILLINOIS,now VOC. REHAB.
During Voc Rehab, I had suggested school from day 1. Only nothing ever came about. Even my treating doctor suggested it. It was my last appointment with Voc rehab, that they then suggest it to me. Well, I agreed, but little did I know, I was being shot in the foot, for they just simply said I wasn't compling with Voc Rehab. And I was cut since then.
I'm sure not all of them are the same. Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor. |

I wish I could help, But I was never offered Rehab, probably because of my age and injury and not being able to return to my job, So I just retired and have been chilling........ I also am in Illinois..

RE: two-level fusion,ILLINOIS,now VOC. REHAB.
I am still in Voc Rehab, second year with second firm. If you get approved for schooling, they give you only $4000.00 towards it. Good enough to pay for some courses in a community college, but not enough for a degree. People in my state(WA)who get injured at construction, usually get re-trained as a building inspector. Others might take some accounting courses, but none of them really gives you a good trade for future employment. I was approved for schooling but no programs were available where you don't have to use computers or hands a lot(I have carpal tunnel), so voc counselor recommended pension. W/c fired them and hired a second voc firm who are trying to push me back to the same type of work where I got hurt originally. We had threads previously about voc rehab, you should read about them.
Be careful with them..as Bad Boy stated, if they don't think you don't co-operate, they can stop your time loss. Good luck. Kat |

My injury state pays $13,000 plus your weekly TTD while working your rehab plan.

RE: two-level fusion,ILLINOIS,now VOC. REHAB.
voc rehab is a big joke, when I went they stopped TTD as I refused to interview 60 miles from home at a 7.00 hr position as a door greeter and requested to return to school to futher my education so I could return to work, refused and stopped rehab. They are not your friend and could care less what type of job you get. Usually give leads to low paying job regardless of your education and most do not even understand what your restrictions mean. Watch what you say to them, they only care to get you off the books and will lie to IC. They work for IC not you.
May God send his angels to hold you in his arms |
