 Pre op Tuesday
Hey guys. I go for pre op on Tuesday. W/C hasn't cancelled yet. I'm getting nervous now. Surgery is scary. The waiting is driving me nuts. How was everyone's weekend?

LOL. well I see you already know how the WC system works if you are worried about them cancelling. I will pray that all goes well for you and that they don't cancel
 I don't think I have ever read a post about your ouchies...can you tell us what surgery you are having? If not I understand Think positive and we'll keep you in our prayers

I had my anterior and posterior ligaments completely torn. There was some damage to tendons too. They are going to do Ankle Reconstruction Surgery. I will be in a cast for 6 weeks, a boot for 6 weeks and a brace for 4 weeks. Long recovery, but I should be at about 90% in about 4 months. Right now I walk like Igor from "Young Frankenstein"..LOL! My foot swells everyday to the point that I can't wear normal shoes. This happened in December and I still have to pack my ankle in ice every night. Yeah, I'm expecting W/C to cancel, but I'm preparing the house in case they don't. My hubby doesn't cook very well so I've been cooking and storing food. My kiddies are going to drop alot of weight..LOL! Does anyone have a good recipe for Roast in Red Gravy? |

Well everyone here will tell you that I don't cook so I'm no help in that department either, LOL
Thanks for letting me know what your ouchie is...I hardly ever visit "that" side of the forum anymore...to many horror stories and I'm not help in that department either, LMAO

Hi Copchick,
Good luck and prayers going up for you for a successful surgery AND that WC won't cancel at the last minute! Red gravy eh? I'm from the north, and apparently I don't even know what red gravy is!! I'm assuming it's tomato based gravy? I'm a great cook, but sorry, I can't help you out on this one. Maybe if i had it once i could though....wanna invite me over to dinner after you figure it out ????? Sounds yum to me. Prayers, Lilly

I dont do red gravy....but I do have several good recipes for freeze ahead meals if you like chicken......or you can do it with beef......boil chicken(or beef) in crockpot overnite with 2 taco seasonings packets....in morning take meat out and debone....use shreaded meat to make enchaladas take corn tortillias and dunk into meat juice till tender(if juice is hot this takes just a second) roll meat a bit of chopped onion and chedder cheese onto a roll and line into a foil baking dish cover with red enchalda sause if beef, green if chicken top with cheese,foil it,cool it and freeze....take the rest of the meat and make tacos for the nite you cook or make several freeze ahead meals out of this....this is a family favorite....

You'll be Fine Cop Chick!! I just had Major Ear Construction 10 Days ago, and when the Dr. started to Describe the Surgery to Me I told Her, "I don't Care what You do when I'm Out, as long as I Wake Up, and will be able to Hear Some Day Soon!" You'll do Fine, and I have every Confidence things will go Well!!
Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled. Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!! |

Hey guys. Well, I got the call. Surgery has been cancelled. Less than 24 ours notice, W/C cancelled pre op appointment. Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers. If I could impose on a few more prayers for the fight ahead. Thanks everyone.
