Questions about medical test and work comp?
A letter I recieved from the surgeon's office says I am to have several medical test done previous to surgery and the results faxed to the surgeon's office.

My question is, my family doctor is not my wc doctor and my health insurance will not pay for the test if they are wc related, so what do I do?

Here are the test I need to have done:

CBC w/differential UA
Basic Metabolic Panel

Bummer... the surgeon should order his own test needed for the surgery he or she is going to preform and then since he is the workmans compensation doctor, your lab work should be charged to W/C. They are still playing games with you aren't they??? good luck bummer...love Red

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

RE: Questions about medical test and work comp?
BK,

Contact the surgeon that is doing the surgery. I am sure that he has a certain lab, both for blood work and ekg that he uses with his patients. Have him order the tests for you using all of your wc info for several days before surgery. Then they will just send the results back to the surgeon and the bills the the IC..leaving you to relax and get the last minute things done that need doing and enjoying your family. This is how my ortho did it both times that I needed surgery during my wc case in Vegas. I got tests done 24 hours prior to surgery. Did the same thing when I had the tarsal tunnel on my foot back in October even though it was personal insurance on that.
