Loss of health insurance
I have been off work for 2 months due to a covered shoulder injury. My company says since I havent worked enough hours, my company health insurance is cancelled unless i take Family Health Leave. I believe since it is a covered work related injury, my company health insurance should stay in effect. Any help? Thank you

Please update your profilr with your state, so that we may assist you better. The laws and statues are state specific. Under the FMLA act, you job is protected for 12 weeks.

RE: Loss of health insurance
Well, you are wrong. Your employer is offering FMLA (Family Medical Leave) which can run for 12 weeks. And that's all the job protection the Law has to allow, unless you have a contract with the employer, or are in a Union that states differently. They do not have to continue to pay your health insurance just because you, me or anyone else is injured on the job. There isn't much you can do other than to allow the FMLA, or pay your own Insurance now.

2nd's on that. They do not have to pay your health insurance unless you have some other type of employment agreement that covers it.

RE: Loss of health insurance
if you can afford to pay it i would just in case.i would hate to see you get hosed by letting it run out then they say well we wont cover you now because of ur condition.im having a hard time finding ins because of my back i keep getting turned down i dont want that to happen to you.i know it is not cheap but either is trying to find cheap ins when you have to pay for it out of ur pocket.

Each day is not a rite,it's a given.
