IME
Okay this is getting alittle frustrating. I had my IME a month ago the 3rd. I have done everything to find out if the ic has received my results yet. I have a PM appt. on Wed. and my doctor there is asking me to consult a ortho doctor through my primary care due to my other hand acting up like carpal. It is because i am using it more because of my dominant hand injury.
Question is: what can i do now to get my results? How long does the IC have to tell me the results as I know they are the ones that own it. Also, why is my PM doctor asking me to get a referrel to a ortho doc for my other hand? Should that not be her ( pm ) that gets me a emg or something I need to check out my other hand? I was suppose to have got this referrel before wed. before I see her. What can I do to get my IME results? I heard that they should of had it in 14 days, or the doctor that preformed the test would not be paid for his services for them? Is this true that it should be done by now? My adjuster keeps saying he will give me the results when he gets them. I called the doctors office that did it, and they keep having me leave a voice message with no return calls. Is there someone i can contact ? I do not have a lawyer so do not know where to go from here. Thank you. carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. RE: IME
Sparkey I would start reading your state w/c laws and see what it says about you having the rights to get a copy .... then ask right out what phone numbers do you call for that information .... Ask the adjuster that question ? that you want the phone number to call
you are being played and they know you dont have a lawyer ! |

RE: IME
sparkey you can always send a certified letter to the doctor that did your IME with a release form asking that it be sent to you.
Sometimes it does take a doctor a little longer to do the report depending on the amount of information they have to go through. Ask you doctor who he would recommend to look at your other hand. I think he feels that the IC should be setting up the appointment for the ortho and that is why he is asking you to get a referral to the ortho. You are right over using one arm/hand because of injuries to the other can cause problems - that is why both of my shoulders are messed up. |

RE: IME
if your case is litigated your atty can subpoena the medical report.
the real problem is your sense of time. In workers comp. medicine and the law where everything has to wait on the next thing --time elapses very slowly. most of the professionals involved have hundreds of cases while you only have one. that means all events take hundreds of times longer. what takes one day in your world of a single case my take 200 days in their world. there is little you can do make them all go at your time. it's less frustrating if you can operate at their time. find other interests, learn about the work comp system learn about your medical condition. your case has a long way to go and the time problem is not going to change. |

RE: IME
Thank you everyone for replies. I am gonna go to my PM appt. on Wed. and talk with my doctor. I will get my workers comp. advocate to come with me to the visit and talk to her again about still not having the IME result. This should not take so long and I do not care how many others the adjusters have to deal with. I am sick of waiting on everything and as time goes on, I am only getting worse!!!
I am working 40-50 hours a week, going to all my appointments and have done everything the IC has asked me to do. It is just to darn bad they have to play games with us when it comes to our well being and help to get well. I just wish that one day one of those ADJUSTERS could be in our place and see how it feels to get someone off their &&& to do something to help us. I have done nothing wrong to be treated so terrible. Thank you again everyone. carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10% |
