RE: TIRED OF WAITING

FYI >>>>> This was addressed in another thread but I would like to repeat it. IF depression is NOT a part of a WC claim the IC will not pay for meds for depression at which point the IW either needs to make depression a part of the claim which is not always the easiest thing to do as some of you know OR use your PCP and private health insurance if you have it. If not there is alot of help out there for meds. I like to make this clear having been through this myself. I chose not to make depression , my PTSD or any other emotional problems a part of my claim for personal reasons, therefore my personal insurance pays for all meds and for any counseling I have. Best of luck to all.

How are you doing today? I have been thinking about you, being that this is new to you...I know the frustration that goes with the pain and the loss of freedom to do whatever it is you like to do. If you feel like you need to talk or vent, feel free to post again.

You are in my prayers.
thank you so much for your concern, right now i am in and out of bed, laying down with the heating pad seems to help, and ofcourse popping hydroco every few hours. I decided to go to my primary dr for depression meds, the wc dr has not even looked at me since before the surgery, i have only seen his assistants and nurses. in fact he accidently faxed my job a sheet that said i should return to work the other day. ofcourse his assistants had to re-fax that i can't work

I am glad to hear from you and that you are at least finding some small temporary things to help your pain. I am sure your PC Dr. will assist you with your meds. Keep us updated with your situation.

RE: TIRED OF WAITING
Do you have a Pain Management doctor? If so, I went to my doctors appt. the other day and he sat down and told me there was steps they go through when prescribing meds.

Eventually during chronic pain, you will probably reach a point of being prescribed anti-depressant meds. It is used to help nerve pain and also depression.

If you have not received a prescription for it yet, you may in the near future. There is steps they go through, and you probably just have not reached it as yet. Hang in there.

carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.
1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10%

RE: TIRED OF WAITING
The Cymbalta works for sleep and depression. It also helps with pain. My husband is on it. Hard to get approved but the drug company does offer assistance and will get the medicine right out to you once you complete the paper work for them. He has hardware in his neck, DDD at the bottom of the spine, CTS both wrists, Stenosis of the spine, and hardware in his left ankle. Between all his medication depression was a concern.

Always believe in yourself. No matter how much some people will make you doubt yourself.
