That is what you need to find out. They may want you yo do pt while loosing weight. You need to make some phone calls and find out.

Just fyi, L5-S1 lamenectomy/discectomy, followed by L5-S1 fusion, Followed by others.
Make some calls to the dr. and ask whats going on.

Take Care.

The MD's change of heart is in your best interest...apparently he got to thinking about it, and does not feel it wise to do surgery on a husky guy. Possibly he made this decision after listening to your heart or an EKG test. You certainly don't want to stroke out, or have a MI on the surgery table!
Try the no flour, no sugar diet. HATE the word diet, sorry.
As AQA says....get on the phone.
Good luck to you! Let us know what happens, ok? Take care, LillySmile

RE: surgeon changed his mind
I did the south beach diet and lost 8 lbs in one week just staying away from the " white stuff". Also, exercise is the number one thing to weight loss. You have to physically do something to burn off calories. Do you have a treadmill? Walking is suppose to be good not only for weight loss, but for the heart as well.

I need to lose about 50 lbs myself. What it comes down to, as i was a weight watchers person for many years, is writing everything down that you eat and keep track of how many glasses of water you take per day also. Water helps to hydrate you and flush out all the fat. I always know this stuff, but just need to put my mind to it.

Whenever I went to weight watchers meetings, the men were always there and lost the most weight. If you can afford 10-12 dollars a week i would suggest joing them. It is great to sit in on the meetings and getting ideas of what to eat, how to keep track of your food points etc. There was almost half as many men in the group than there was women. Men would always amaze me at how fast they lost weight compared to the women. Some men would lose 5-10 lbs a week. The thing i liked about weight watchers is it is REGULAR food and not some packaged portions of processed food. It was also convienient to go out to eat and know what to order and how much of it you could eat when you did.

carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.
1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10%
