RE: acupuncture

Limbo.... can you tell the difference in my thinking?? I think you noticed. Thanks Wink

Kitty.....WC IC's don't always approve what is best for the IW. Sometimes it's the opposite and we get worse for having treatment denied or maybe a specific treatment that would/could help denied.
Along with Jayne I also had 10 sessions approved with my first back injury and it did nothing for me. With this injury I have had more luck with a Chiropractor than any other form of PT or injections.

Ok, so does anyone know what avenue to take if WC does deny it? Can I appeal the decision? I should be able to take any means necessary to correct my condition and I should not have to pay for it out of my own pocket. I also do not have regular insurance to cover it if WC denies it. I just called my doctors office and left a message with the receptionist to ask my doctor to send a request to WC for the accupuncture. I will keep you all posted. In the mean time if anyone knows the answer to my question about appeals please let me know. Thanks all and be well. Smile Kitty

Hi Kitty....Do you have an attorney? I think you might want to look into hiring one. The first consult is free. Yes you can appeal a decision made by WC BUT it is much easier to do if you have an attorney. JMO>

RE: acupuncture
As Jayne sugested a lawyer might be able to get the IC to try accupuncture. I HIGHLY recommend it; had phenomenal results after an auto accident and have seen it work miracles with others. (Though I know it doesn't work for everything! )It's great for tension and stress which are a given when dealing with WC! I had to fight to get auto insurance to pay for it, but was worth it. Good luck!
