first timer update
so i finally got in to see the doctor and was sent for an mri. the mri shows nothing is torn thank goodness, but i'm still unable to walk or bare weight on my right leg without pain and swelling.i was sent to an orthopedic doctor and was given an injection in my knee for the swelling and set up for physical therapy.the workmen comp doctor said i could go back to work as long as i was on light duty and able to sit down and do very little walking or standing.now i'm not able to drive because of the pain in my knee and foot and the doctor knows this but will not restrict my driving until i have some nerve test done that he has set me up for.the test is in eight days so until then i have to find a way to work or risk getting wrote up for missing work. i have no one to drive me five days a week twice a day.so i'm up the creek.... anyone have any words of wisdom they can share?

RE: first timer update
Hi trl....
all I can offer you is prayers that everything will be ok. Sorry no wisdom to share. Have you tried calling the MD back and telling him you are simply unable to drive and explain your situation? Possibly he'll write you "off of work" until the test. Maybe even go to the ER .

Hopefully someone with some knowledge on the subject will have some answers for you on how to proceed.
take care & good luck, & prayers for you LillySmile

RE: first timer update
Well if the doctor does not want to request you off work till you can drive and you are having a difficult time trying to find someone, then i would call the wc adjuster and tell him/her your situation and possibly they would have to pay for you to take a taxi????

What do they expect you to do when you have a bad leg?? Boy I tell you, this wc stuff really ticks me off lately. How they are such heartless/unthoughtful people not to mention STUPID!

Good luck and ask them ( IC ) or doctor what you are suppose to do??? I would think REST would be the answer if i was the doctor. Stay off the leg and let the medicine work till you can drive. If you cannot drive, what makes them think you can WORK?? Does not make sense really. Sorry if my attitude comes across mad, I am having a very painful day working myself today. Good luck.
