Received A Grant

I believe most on this forum know I volunteer for a United Way Funded Organization that provides services to children with disabilities in my community.

Well, last fall I wrote a grant for the Lending Library program for the purchase of assistive technology switches & switch toys. With the use of assistive technology; battery operated toys are adapted so children with little or no fine & gross motor skills are able to play just like any other child. Remember, children learn from play.

The switches are also used with computers so a child can utilize a computer for education or recreation purposes.

Well, I picked up the check this eve and with the assistance of an occupational therapist we will be purchasing these items for the Lending Library Program so that parents may check the items out for use with their children.

Just thought I would share.

that is truly awesome getting that grant...it will come back to you I'm sure...I know those parents and the children will benefit tremendously from the items...you are truly a wonderful person.... thanks for sharing with us

Microdiscectomy/Laminectomy L5/S1, 1/05. Scar Tissue filled the Herniation site, traveled through the Foranim, and totally encapsulates the S1 Nerve Root. (Totally Disabled.)
