RE: first timer
find out if you have FMLA protections and what they are so you won't be caught off guard:
http://www.dol.gov/esa/whd/fmla/ FYI: workers comp is "no fault". benefits are available whether anyone's to blame or not. this is not governed by civil law. you are not "owed" this because they did something wrong and you are not "guilty" because you got hurt. both emotions needlessly set employer against employee and can make the whole process acrimonious. |

RE: first timer
That is the most rediculous thing i have ever heard. They take a xray and send you back to work before you even have results??? If they want to send you back to work and let your injury get worse they are plain ole STUPID.
That goes to show you how this awful wc system works for you. They should of had you seen a doctor the first day of injury, fill out paperwork and send you home till you have a doctors appt for the results. Read the top of this site under your state and see what you are entitled for, and what you need to do. That is the most obsured thing i have ever heard. If you continue to work like that you may be causing more damage. I know just from my experience with my hand/arm that even when I went back to work light duty for 2 months, i ended up so bad with frozen shoulder from protecting my arm, that i had therapy for 7 months 4 x's a week and still never healed. I still have that pain and feel if i was not sent back to work like that, I would not be the way I am today. Good luck and educate yourself and possibly get legal help if needed. carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10% |

RE: first timer
sparkey is correct ur going to end up in worse shape by going back to work injured its not good for you or ur retarded employer.if they dont get u to a dr asap then i would get a attorney now.see how they like that under statutory law they have to povide you with medical care do to a work injury.....i had to get crappy with my exemployer and told them either you do something or i will and send you the bills,is seen a dr two days later.push the issue good luck.

RE: first timer
So in other words...there are no obvious breaks so they sent you back to work!
(Jayne's lame attempt to bypass the Bad Word Filter)-holes! Lilly Injured worker, & tired of it all! I'm too old for games!! A careless word may kindle strife, a cruel word may wreck a life, a timely word may level stress, and a loving word may heal and bless! |
